Is it time MM takes the defensive play calling over from Durde? He needs to assert himself into the lives of this defense. They need to see MM staring back at them in the mirror, in their dreams and when they think no one is watching. We are the paper champs of defense.

Time to admit we have issues. Our pass rush is embarrassing. How many time today did you say why are the DEs giving up the edge? They are like missiles for the center of the pocket. All Baker had to do was go outside and they were stuck inside. In junior high we were taught to stay home at DE and move from the outside in. Has this concept gone out the window?

Where is the discipline? I love Big Cat but he is costing us lately. Reign it in big guy, this team needs your leadership. Serenity now, insanity later!

MM already calls the plays. Durde did some preseason but Mike has been doing all of it otherwise.
Mac has always called the defensive plays. Durde is more so an assistant, sous chef. He might ask Durde for some suggestions but it has always been Mac.

It seems like Mac and the defense just got outcoached and schemed really well today.

Cause, Seattle’s Top Flight Security DEFENSE, AIN’T DO JACK S#@!

A couple weeks ago during the game they said Durde is calling the defense and that MM trusts him to do that.

Yeah kind of embarrassed talking about our defense being down some starters with resident opposing fan 94Smith saying hold my beer.
I’m not looking forward to playing baker and the bucs this week .

For the thousandth time, the defense was down five starters by the end of the first quarter or so. Hard to be effective in that situation.

I will say I'm concerned about Tyrice Knight. And our depth.
Na, zero excuses for them to look as lost as they did down 5 starters or not. No excuse for zero adjustments for the gaping holes in the middle and down the seam. No excuses for the Dline to get little to no pressure all game against a back up right tackle and a back up right guard. Inexcusable..... Lawrence is not a pressure guy, he's a run stopper, as I've read the excuse somewhere we were missing Lawrence. We stopped the run for the most part, so how were we missing Lawrence?

This is on coaching and communication as Macdonald himself stated in the presser. And it starts with him. Period.

Why cant Seattle ever cover a back or TE? This has been going on for a decade now, why can't we scheme up a D to cover these dudes? Ever......

Niners was just as banged up as us or more, and rolled into LA and still got the job done. Zero excuses, next man up, and MM needs to take this L in the chin.

I listened to Macdonald's postgame presser on the radio, and this is indeed what he was doing. In summary, he wasn't blaming anyone but himself and said he has to do better.

I can see concerns in the DBs but our pass rush has one bad game and people try to call it out? Ridiculous. We’ve been one of the top teams in qb pressures while hardly blitzing. I think maybe take a beat after a loss. One poor outing does not a bad dline make.

Yep, he did as he should have. Got nothing for respect for the man.

Knight needs to learn the basic fundamentals of tackling. He should be a tackling machine as a linebacker but he's far from it.

It was just an awful defensive performance, but I'm not going to throw the baby out with the bathwater.

1) We were down significant secondary defenders
2) From what I saw this handcuffed MM from utilizing a lot of his defensive playbook
3) The middle of the field was so soft; how man passes did they complete without a defender near the receiver in this area of the field. I'd have to see tape on all these passes to begin to figure out what exactly went wrong
4) Missed tackles and not getting RB's and WR's down on first point of impact too many times
5) Very little pressure on Mayfield, and even the few times they blitzed it wasn't very effective and made our depleted secondary look even worse than it had

It was just a bad performance all the way around.

Agreed, I am also concerned about our linebackers in general.

And like the first loss we were driving for the win when a fluky turnover happened. I'm not worried.

In the Brock and Salk show today, Mike specifically talked about his own playcalling. He's definitely the one on the sideline with the mic and covering his face with his playsheet as he makes the calls.
