Hard to blame people for speculating. Harvin is arguably the most exciting player this team's ever signed, so it sucks to play the waiting game............thus lots and lots of speculating.

more sarcasm: Please stop talking about something that could help the team get over the top. Just stop talking about adding one of the best players in football.

Harvin is in Phase 2 of whatever number of phases there is for him to come back!

How many phases do you all think there is?

Yea, Pete said that he was in "phase 2" of his recovery. That's Pete speak that decoded means "I don't have a frigging clue when he'll be back."

When asked how many phases there are, Pete replied "I knew you were going to ask that,’’ Carroll said. “I just thought I’d give you a term for it. I have no idea. We’ll have to wait and see.”

They need to poop or get off the pot by next Tuesday as if he isn't activated by then and we don't make a corresponding roster cut, he'll have to go on IR for the rest of the season. We'd best prepare ourselves for the worst. It's becoming more and more likely that Harvin won't play at all this season.

I don't think it is at all likely that he won't play this season. He will play, even if they have to activate him and then bring him in slowly. Worth it to activate him even if he only gets in at playoff time. Form a Seahwaks.com article "Carroll emphasized that it is a matter of when - not if - the wide receiver will return to action this season." http://www.seahawks.com/news/articl...y-Harvin/8b317a9a-8f1c-4bcf-972f-8316a85b400d

Pete already said he's activating Harvin by next Tuesday regardless of whether he's going to play before they bye.

No. We have no clue when he will be playing.

I wouldn't go that far. I doubt he'll sit on the bench once he's been activated and we need to activate him by next week. My bet is he plays against the Vikings. He may not get starter's reps, but I'd wager he gets playing time

This is what I see happening. You can get him anywhere from 10-25 reps depending on how he's feeling, and then you have a bye to rest him up, let him heal even more, and get the full amount of practice reps before unleashing him.

I saw where Pete said it was a matter of when he'd return vs. if he'd return, but I didn't see anything about Pete saying he'd activate him no matter what.

Harvin's condition has be worse than originally thought when he returned to practice on the 23rd. Otherwise, why start the clock ticking towards next Tuesday's deadline and force yourself to make room on the roster if he's not going to be ready to play?

I wish people would stop getting swept into speculation by the press. Pete said he's more than willing to add Percy to the roster and not play him for awhile if he needs a bit more time to get to full speed.

Is Bryan Walters still on the official 53? He would be my best bet to be cut for Harvin.

I'm not being "swept into media speculation." I'm trying to put two and two together. The original timetable given after his hip surgery was 3-4 months. Harvin had surgery on Aug. 1, so Nov. 1 would make it 3 months, so he's right in the middle of the expected return date and still isn't even practicing. The original statement after the surgery was that he was expected to miss as few as 6 games, realistically 8-10 games, and this Sunday vs. the Falcons is Game 10. I don't see why Pete would have started the clock ticking towards having to make a roster move by 11/12 if he wasn't expecting him to be playing at least two days earlier in the Falcons game on the 10th. Harvin himself was putting out tweets in October saying that he was ahead of schedule, so it's not just some media driven frenzy that's causing us to wonder what's going on.

We've invested a huge amount of money and draft capital in Percy Harvin. Our offense is struggling and we just lost our best WR for the season. It's only natural for fans like us to start getting a little anxious.
