The thing I find cringe-y is how badly synchronized the arm movements are during the chop. The SB broadcast showed Chiefs fans in Germany doing the chop, and they had no sync and no rhythm, so I just assumed it was a German problem. Then I saw a clip of the KC fans doing it, and they were even worse. My apologies to Germans, you were just faithfully replicating the sloppiness you've seen on TV!
