There was a small stream of fans who left from our section after the interception, but that didn't have a bit of impact on the noise level.

According to to my friends dad, as fans were leaving from his section many fans in his section then started to hold hands and link arms in an attempt to stop people from leaving the stadium.

Stupid thing to do to drunk and angry fans, IMO. I personally would not appreciate being barred like that.

I don't think they were linking arms as a means to bar people from leaving. I think it was meant to be more of a symbol of unity and belief. I also know that this section has lots of long time season ticket holders so they are a pretty tight knit group. So if they were actually barring someone from leaving they probably knew each other.

Its those disgusting media types who want to rain on our parade. Granted a few left but they were not fans. We had two ladies next to us that sat for a portion of the game. Tickets were given to them for free!! Real 12's stood tall and together and I am proud of our fans. Go Hawks.

I had two middle-aged women Hawk "fans" who stood/sat next to my wife and just watched the game quietly all game. I mean maybe the occasional clap. No screaming, no excitement, never engaged with anyone else around (my immediate area is pretty friendly with high fives and hugs) nothing. Disappeared for an entire quarter, and hell there was another quarter they stood/sat and drank coffee like they were watching Oprah. What was more annoying was pre-game I offered to trade them my friend's seats who was in the same row one section closer to the 50 yard line just with seats a little deeper in the row and she didn't want to trade. I actually think I would have had a better time sitting next to two packer fans, at least they would have been more fun with playful banter and what not. The only thing I can credit them for was actually staying for the whole game, but man...I still wish they traded with my friends. Lame company, with the "excitement" they had, amazed they didn't just watch the game at home, or not watch it at all.

There was a moment towards the end, when it started getting really quiet... grim, very grim. Then suddenly the Seahawks chant started going from somewhere around the 105 or 206 section. And the 12's started cheering again and we never stopped!

I call Shenanigans. I've seen several home videos of the stands and the fans reaction from people's phones after the game winning catch and I'm still trying to find an empty seat.

There were a TON of people who left, not like 1/10 seats, but enough to notice and even make those who stayed start feeling even more demoralized. I mean it COULD be argued that some of them were just running for concessions/bathroom breaks given there is typically some time before a change of possession. I'd say out of a stadium of 68k there were at least a couple thousand folks who left, which is minimal by percentage, but enough to notice and shake your head at.

Just be glad our nicknames aren't "Faithful" because it would make the pictures of those fans who did leave be even worse for the fanbase.
I was one of them after the int. I ran down my aisle out to the concourse and straight to the bathroom. Made it back by the next play.

There were plenty of people in my section that left and they were not treated nicely as they left. They got exactly what they should have got, they paid a ton of money for tickets and they got to hear about the greatest comeback in Seahawk history. I would put the Falcons game 2 years ago up there too but we lost. There might be something to this Wilson kid!
I had a very good feeling that Matt Flynn would be at a game at the Clink where we went to the Super Bowl......I'm so glad I was right! Yes, I'm one of the dumb asses that wanted Flynn to start.....I've never been so happy about calling myself a dumb ass!

I have heard this story about fans leaving EVERYWHERE: SBNation, Around the NFL, Rome, Shek... everywhere. The media is having a lot of fun with this.

But does anybody have any evidence that the stadium significantly cleared out? When SF gets beat down, you can find pictures of their empty stadium everywhere. Where are the pictures of 25k fans emptying the Clink? All I've seen are standing-room-only pics from the end of the game. Did ANYBODY leave the game? Of course, you have 70k people. I know people who went to the NFCCG last year who couldn't name our DC (and still can't) because they got hooked up with some corporate deal no one else could afford. Every stadium is going to have people like that.

It just seems like if they're going to have this much fun with this story, they ought to provide some evidence instead of just claiming the entire 12th man just packed up and left.
