Impact of Bobby at half speed and no KJ Wright?

Maybe this is being discussed in another thread, but I haven't seen it. I noted that Bobby just missed Gurley several times. I have to think a healthy Bobby and KJ at least help with the D. With the way our Offense played we still might not have won, but maybe we hold them to 20?

Hold them to 20? Doubt it. Maybe 30ish. Special teams was still killing us by giving them short fields. If Goff had to throw on us he probably would have done it just fine given there was almost no pressure on him.

Bobby is playing on one leg. He probably should not have been out there, but he’s a competitor and his team needed him.
If I’m *allas this week I’d just hand the ball off all game and win by 20+.

Look at the first game against the Rams the offense was just as bad the only reason we won that game is the defense got 5 turnovers. Do we win with a healthy KJ and Bobby probably not but I guarantee we don't give up 42. Bobby Wagner is the best defensive player in football this year and he looked like slower version of Heath Farewell out there plus he was trying to guess where to be to make up for his lack of quickness and was out of position numerous times. Earl was right he should have been out there but you have to love his heart for doing it.

Look at his numbers. First meeting 64 total yards and pretty much shutdown, last meeting 152 yards and 3TD is a little over 2 quarters.

Hell yes it made a big difference.

We still lose do to special teams and turnovers getting totally blown out though.

Injuries have taken their toll on special teams. Because a lot of the guys that were strictly on ST are now playing more regularly. Therefore, there's a significant drop off in ST play. Guys like Wilhoite, Garvin, etc are counted on to fill in for the injured starters. With that said the tackling was atrocious against the Rams and Jags. Hope that gets corrected.

That reminds me of something I heard on the radio, can't remember who said it, but with Bobby and KJ down they did have to juggle ST with some new people.

This is the first game I've ever seen Bobby get sealed off. It happened a couple times in this game including the TD run that Gurley had on 3rd and 20. So yeah maybe he shouldn't have played but I respect his passion.

Can't compare games as glibly as that. The DL was much better in that game, Kam is a beast against the run, and Sherm was locking down fools. Our STalso wasn't awful in that game and their kicker missed a field goal. Also forced five turnovers and almost lost if not for a dropped pass.

Yeah, I know, who can say, speculate all you want, but there's only one truth... I mean, did they even pass?

While speculative it is not out of the question. It flies in the face of the many "Burn it down" threads growing like weeds on the forum. If you add Kam and Sherm and Avril I have to believe we walk away with this.

Could be, but, who knows the out come.. We scored one garbage point, and nothing even close otherwise.

The trouble is, their defense came to play Sunday in the fashion that we are used to seeing.

I hate to say it but the closing window is looking a little too real. That was one of the most painful home game I've seen in quite awhile. Being owned at home just straight up sucks. It makes you wonder how many injuries were played thru back in 2014.

Walk away with it when the offense can only put up 7 points and the special teams gave up more yards than their passing game had?
I think NOT.

The 2013 defense couldn't have won that game. They averaged starting on our side of the field in the first half and the offense was the least successful of all 3 units.

Yeah the defense was the least bad of the units put there. Special teams might have been the worst bit they and the offense were so bad it doesn't really matter who was worse.
