I remember when we signed Sam Darnold, and my first reaction was, we better fix this offensive line once and for all, or we are in for a very long season.
I figured our defense would be very good, but there were so many question marks on offense. Then, in preseason, watching us run the football so well, I became optimistic that we could win 10-11 games and be in the playoff mix. But, NEVER did I think we'd be here, no way.
I really think the turning point of the season happened with the Rams loss in LA. I thought that would be a "measuring stick" game and it would show us what this team was really made of. Not only did we measure up, we were the better team that day. Despite the four turnovers from Sam, and settling for all those field goals, we still had a chance to win at the buzzer. If there was such a thing as a good loss, that was it, and I told anyone who'd listen that I truly believed, right then and there, that we could run the table.
We haven't lost since, and we're not losing in two weeks. Second Lombardi trophy win incoming.
