It completely depends on timing.

If this thread is about this off season, I say no. He's going to see how far his roster and coach can go.

If the timing is 5 or 6 years from now, I'd say there's a good chance. If there's lots of success in Seattle in that time, he may want a new challenge. If there is not much success in that timeframe, he would want a change. If the team is sold, he might not have an option. The only sure path to JS staying is a long and consistent record of success. He'll stay indefinitely if the Seahawks are in the SB or NFCCG or NFCW champs every year.

Ask yourself, would you leave for Green Bay if you were him? Packers are in a worse situation. Here he has a staff that he put together that is clicking on all cylinders. Drafts have been real good the past few years. Top notch head coach in place, top 5 defense, top 5 offense, young team, money to spend. Do I need to go on?

He’s a Hawk for life.

He was mentored there, he likes Wisconsin, it is an historical franchise, a new challenge, if he has did it twice here a new challenge may be just what he needs to stay engaged. Staying in a comfort zone tends to lead to conservative decisions and eventual unemployment in the NFL.

I'm sorry I forget the young gm's name but John pre-draft had some discussions on the radio and made a point to introduce his understudy, as long as he trains him well, John would know how to pick his potential replacement, I agree, 5 years from now and probably only if GB has been in the dumpster. As long as we have 2-3 more sb's he can go resurrect a storied franchise, I guess.

Yeah, I don't see it, especially with his Autism Charity "Ben's Fund"(wonderful) which is tied to Seattle.

Who knows what he values, but what can Green Bay offer that he doesn't have here? It doesn't seem like it'd be a new challenge and it's not like he's from there. Or maybe he is, but I'm too lazy to look it up, and statistically, I'm much more likely to be right than not.

Schneider grew up in Wisconsin and attended high school in De Pere at Abbot Pennings High School, where he played football and graduated in 1989. He studied history and secondary education at University of St. Thomas and was on the football team his freshman year until injuries caused him to retire. During his junior year, he wrote a letter to Ron Wolf asking if he could work as a scout. His internship that summer was the beginning of his relationship with the Green Bay Packers.[2]

It's really hard to see anytime soon. Ask again in about 5 years. Right now he is one the most tenured and respected GM's in football and things are going good here. So neither side would probably want to part.

No, John has built his career/legacy in Seattle. Why would he go to Green Bay and live under the shadows of the Packers past legendary GM's? And, With the success the seahawks are having, and the direction this team is headed, if we win another super bowl in the next couple of years John would cement his name in the ring of honor, Why would he want to leave?.. His green bay job was just a stepping stone to get to Seattle to this point of his career. Now, if we were 2-7 and not 7-2, Then i could see him take the job in green bay if offered to him...
The psychology here is he would create his own legacy and join the legendary GB GMs. I don't see it for a long while.

But, Isn't that what he's doing now in Seattle?.. I mean he's now in full control over the team now that Carroll left.. But, I agree he's not leaving until he wins a super bowl without Carroll here in Seattle, Personally , I hope he never leaves.

At this point, John Schneider can have any GM/team boss job; he is the #1 candidate on the owners' list. His status and hireablility went from top 10 to #1 with the success of the Schneider line. But will he look at other jobs? The short answer is NO, the long answer is maybe. Why? Jody's trust is absolute, but when will Jody sell the team?
