(Sound back)...Hawks and Dawgs sharing many similarities. Penalties certainly being one. Tons of talent on both teams but both apparently lacking discipline. I don't recall USC being penalized like this under Pete and Sark. But then again, that was (the almighty) USC.

We'll need to get this corrected soon if we are going to compete against the top 25 going forward. More so, another blow-out loss to OU would really take the shine off of what looks to be a promising year (and hurt recruiting, too).

Side note on this game. I know you Seattlites love kevin collabro for his work with the Sonics but man, he's terrible at calling a football game.

I'm listening to the radio feed so I'm not hearing him. Bengals finally moving the ball against the Huskies' 3rd & 4th stringers but their kicker misses his second FG of the game to keep the shutout intact.

After calling the Dawgs off in the second quarter the Huskies cruise to a 56-0 win. Their first shutout since '09 and their first 3-0 start since '01. Washington racks up 680 total yards without having a single player break 100 yards rushing or receiving. The only disappointing part of the game was all the penalties. 16 for 130, with the majority of them being false starts & holds. Idaho State wasn't much better with 10 penalties so maybe it was just a flag-happy crew, but it's still a cause for concern.

Sounded like we had no designs on running up the score. I'm very happy about that.

Unlike some teams in the PNW. ;)

If you're referring to the Ducks, they've very clearly let the foot off the gas pedal the last couple years against the Huskies.

*edit... well played Throwdown. Made me LOL*

I'm sure you'll see another example of it next month.

I was not referring to their play against the Huskies, and honestly the Huskies haven't been themselves in a long time. Regardless, that would be an apples to oranges comparison. Now... some Big Sky squads, you guys have gone a little too far with.

Oregon is bound to lose to Washington, and this Washington squad is one that can do it. That Ivory Tower is only going to hold you Duck fans for so long before it crumbles. :thfight7: :141847_bnono: :141847_bnono: :177692:

Ok Fido.

If you want to talk Ducks and DAwgs you can make another thread about it. Not gonna derail another Husky thread. Good win for UW, they did what they were supposed to do.

Well, my first comment was related to running up the score. You went all Ducks vs Dawgs on me. Just sayin...

Back to the topic at hand: I like our Freshman QB Miles. He looks very good in this offense and should ease any concerns folks have about life after Price. GREAT play by the Dawg defense, which after life with Nick Holt... was really refreshing to see in these first 3 games.

Edit: Seriously... Fido? C'mon Man.

It was a joke Lassie, based on your s/n.

Agree'd. I think Miles is much more dangerous in your current offense then Price.

Last news I heard on Holt was that he is being used to his fullest potential; responsible for coffee and donuts at Arkansas, I believe. A virtual intern (unless he managed to get fired from that gig as well). But Sark's canning him doesn't make up for Sark hiring him. You likely agree that period of D misery goes squarely on Sark. I just hope we manage to hold onto Wilcox, but don't see how that can happen unless he's offered Sark's spot.

Gotcha, Daisy. :D

Was also good to see Washington get some touches and play well, especially after his last double-fumble performance. I do not see Arizona giving us too hard of a time. 4-0 start seems very possible - then its on to the season defining matches against the Tree and the Disney/Nike love-child. ;)

HawkWow - Totally agree. That was a "bro-hire" that never should have happened.

Holt's ridiculous salary should be deducted from Sark's. It's not too late.

Pete must have had Holt on donut detail at USC, as well. Can't imagine his role with the mighty Trojan D. Shows just how hands on Pete was with that side of the ball.

Exactly. Pete must have been the man behind USC's D.

"The way (Washington) coach (Steve) Sarkisian and his staff treated us, knowing that we're wounded and not playing real well, one of the most outstanding examples of sportsmanship and care of other teams that I've ever seen," (Idaho st coach) Kramer said.

(Aside from 'Washington wins')...The words above are what I wanted to hear most. Good job, UDub. Classy as ever.
