If you're listening to Carrol's press conference, you know what I'm sayin'.

Hmmmm

Not much to go on.

I'm gonna guess the no-call on the flop?

Teases aren't cool. Most of us weren't listening to the presser.

Commenting on question of why he didn't call time out at the end. Said he thought about it but didn't want to disrupt the flow of what was going on and that the whole moment was freaking awesome. This is not word for word but just memory.

The way the game ended.

He was asked if he though about using time outs on the rams final drive and he said he liked the way things were going. He loved that it came down to the defense having to win the game. Paraphrasing a bit but said he loves it when either the offense or defense gets to close the game out by winning the battle.

Sorry guys. Didn't mean to leave people hanging. It's probably the first presser I've listened to. But as has been summarized, he was talking about the tension and the drama at the end of the game. He thought about calling a timeout but thought the tension and emotion worked in their favor.

Uh...so in other words, he forgot?

He was aware of the situation the entire time. He was talking it through with Carl Smith (QB coach and designated assistant for clock management). Pete said that he saved the timeouts because he wanted to put all of the pressure on a back-up QB who he knew would have to make a play at some point to win the game.

It worked.

Note: this is from his radio interview the morning after the game.

Good call by him. Forcing a struggling team to make plays to beat you isn't a bad strategy, also that was really the first time I remember where to D has had to close a game out. That experience could be huge down the road.

Meh this is one of those calls where if they score people would have been calling for PC's head for terrible game management but if they stop them it was a genius move.

I believe the defense preserved the win in Houston as well, but no where near that fashion.. As much as i'm unhappy with the run defense Monday night, i'm extremely pleased with the overall performance in that game.

I thought about this when it happened and wondered if he was going to force the Rams to make the play. Fisher probably expected PC to take a time out.

Of course.

The PERFECT example is that Carroll was chastised for attempting a 61 yard field goal against Atlanta with his starting kicker in 2011 instead of attempting the Hail Mary (with Tarvaris Jackson might I add), but then chastised for not attempting a 64 yard field goal with a signed-off-the-street kicker instead of a Hail Mary (with Russell Wilson at QB). AGAINST THE VERY SAME TEAM

Defense was huge in that game, but the game ended on the field goal. Against the Rams, the game ended with the D on the field.
