Bevell apologists want to cite our annual Offensive points ranking, which is generally in the upper half of the league, as proof that he's a good coordinator.

I don't buy this at all. We are always in the middle of the pack in terms of first downs, which tells me that we are an average offense.

What helps us in the W-column is:
a) that we have an elite defense and good special teams that help us immensely in the field position game, so we don't have to sustain drives to score.
b) that we have a plus QB that can move the ball in the 2 minute drill.

When we come up against a team with a good pass rush that takes away our deep routes and plays good special teams (TB, LA, MIA, CAR, ARI, etc), we are going to need to be luckier than them to win because we only have one offensive style.

A GOOD OC can recognize when we can't run our long game and knows how to scheme for ball control and taking what their defense gives you.

We averaged almost 30 PPG in the three games before yesterday, am just not that worried.

In 3 other games we never scored a TD, and total points scored were 14. Part of those points were from the defense, 2 points, or directly by field position provided by the defense, 3. In fact that 3 provided by the defense is the only reason this team hasn't been shut out. So if you want to cherry pick 3 games the reverse can be done as well.

But none of that really matters. Next game. I'm curious though, what does a bad OC look like to you if not all of this? How much worse do you think an OC could be and still have a job in the NFL? In my opinion (obviously) Bevell has already crossed the line, but do you think he's even close to it?

You can't throw something out there like "woefully under performs" and then toss it aside and tell me to move on. That's your statement, own it.

Here's the fact, since Bevell has been here working with Pete and Russell this offense has continued to improve continuity wise, and stat wise..........and IMO it would have continued to improve as Pete said he thought as well if not for major injuries to Russell cutting our playbook in half for a big chunk of the season.

Yet, here we are, 7-3-1, after all the injuries, terrible RB play and all time terrible O-line play.

You can hate on Bevell, many do here. But have stats, logic and reason to back it up. Not conjecture and blanket statements based emotionally after a loss.

Win? OMG WE'RE AMAZING GOING ALL THE WAY I LOVE EVERYONE NOT ONE SINGLE BEVELL SUCKS THREADS FOR MILES!!!

Lose? FIRE BEVELL!!!

Pointing to our team record to defend an individual is a misleading stat, and thus illogical and unreasonable. I've given plenty of stats over the years he's been here. Look at the offensive ones, and you don't even have to look that deep. 3 points yesterday again the Bucs. How is this still a conversation? 6 against Arizona, in 5 quarters! You can dig for DVOA all you want to absolve him, but you're digging through a pile of his own crap to get there.

There's also a particular nuance that should be acknowledged here: it IS possible to enjoy our team's success while still calling out it's weakest links, much the same way we love out friends while still admitting their flaws.
