I am fairly certain my large Seahawks car magnet saved me!

I have it on the back of my work truck. I was also wearing my Seahawks beanie so that might have helped. I was speeding and it would have been a large fine. He let me off with a warning. I cannot say if it was all my Hawks gear but I cannot explain why this officer let me off of such a large ticket. I think Seahawks fans feel pretty good about right now because even though we did not make it to the Super Bowl I don't think you would find one 12th man who would trade our team with either the Broncos or the Panthers. I think most of us are pretty damn happy with the season and the prospects for next season.

Do you have a valid driver's license? Did you have insurance? No dope in the car? Were you polite? Not driving recklessly? As a police officer myself I often get a sideways looks from the higher ups when it comes to the amount of tickets I don't write. I just don't see why I should ruin the day of a decent, non S**t bag person who may have been a little late to work or forgot to use a turn signal. maybe he thinks like I do.

I wish more police officers thought like this. It often seems as it's more about them and their struggle for power, rather than doing the right thing. As someone who has been around law enforcement my entire life via family/friends. From top level CIA to fresh out of basic training military police, I have been witness to the best of them and the worst of them. You, are right up there with the best of them, an officer that realizes people have lives and aren't there to be someones personal whipping boy. I realize there are quite a few flat out criminals out there and they should be dealt with accordingly. Like you said, someone forgetting their signal or going a few mph over the limit, isn't a reason to ruin someones day. Thank you for making the world a little bit of a better place.

Got a buddy who is a local Sheriff's Deputy. His advice is almost verbatim to what sign37now laid down. I'll add don't lie, agree that you were indeed doing what the officer had observed, and offer an apology.

It doesn't help to wear Hawks gear down in these parts, in fact, it could be a form of an indictment of sorts. But the 100-club stickers showing you give to help the fund for injured officers sure does.

Oh puhlease, Im 32 years old, been a hawks fan since I figured out what football was back in the Dave Krieg years. I have suffered plenty thank you. Which is why I can say with a straight face that we blew a golden opportunity. I know how hard it is to get to this level. It's taken my whole life. Seeing Denver take the championship by basically copying our blue print from two years ago hurt. If your satisfied with losing your a loser. plain and simple.

Thanks Trump but I find enjoyment in the narrative and process of building a winner. You seem like you'd be perpetually unhappy given that we've only ever won 1 Superbowl. Are you perpetually unhappy or what and if so, what are you doing here?

Also, are you seriously conflating your own catharsis with the ability to materially enhance the chances of the team to win a SB? To that end, does loyalty to a team make any sense since it shows dedication to losing?

Ahh, if only more police officers were like that. I contend that one reason many people have low opinions of police officers is because most people's interactions are over stupid things like minor traffic issues.
