The penalties and Sweezy are my big concerns right now.

Jeezuz Greg why didn't I think of typing that? Would have saved me 20 minutes! :16:

That play with Turbin getting spanked by Matthews is how you get your QB killed. Reminded me of the effort Shaun Alexander would give in pass pro. :34853_doh:

I get that Matthews is one of the better NFL players but come ON Turbin. Just a little effort, please?

I will begrudgingly take this one. Wilson went from perfect in that first drive to mearly human the remainder of his playing time. The defense was not immune to human like play tonight either. They made Finley look good more than once. The game killing penalties have to stop. The receivers have to catch the balls thrown to them. Our pass rush remains a major issue. Good win but time for more work. Getting down to 53 looks to be a bit easier tonight.

Ever take any journalism classes Greg? A copywriter friend of mine said that was one of the most useful classes he ever took, honing brevity skills down to a fine art. Nicely done :)

Call me if we play this crappy when the games actually matter, besides, there were lots of positives.

these penalties cannot carry over into the season, or at least they better not

Wilson looked great until about the second sack and fifteenth holding penalty. Then he just started pressing, I guess.

I'm not worried about Sweezy so much as I am worried that Cable is going to stick with him when he isn't ready instead of just playing Alvin Bailey at RG.

Pass rush looked good. Two things I am worried about: Our WRs not getting separation (though we don't have Sidney Rice or Percy Harvin out there) and our LBs being not great in pass coverage, though a couple times there was good coverage that they just got beat on by dimes being thrown past them.

It's starting to solidify in my mind that it's part and parcel of a Pete Carroll team. I was hoping it was just being a young team (which we still obviously are), but man oh man. Talk about two steps forward......

Really hoping that Carpenter is back for week 1.

Okung, Carpenter, Unger, McQuistan, Breno would be pretty good.

Here is my :twocents: this was a preseason game and we needed this kind of game to bring us back to reality and get some more focus for the regular season.

I'm worried about this too, but maybe he needs to get singed a little to make that leap? Preseason is one thing, but this will get painful in the regular season.

I try to remember that people wanted RW to sit on the bench for a year.....and throwing him into the fire kinda worked out.....

Not saying he's another RW or anything of course.

Let's be honest, our pass protection has been pretty pathetic in almost every game Sweezy has started. Arizona, St. Louis, and Atlanta are the best examples. I agree that Cable might be too in love with this dude's athleticism. He was consistently blown up by pass rushers last year, and it significantly impacted those games.

He had a horrendous game today.

I wonder how the Packer fans feel about this game. We played pretty bad and had yellow flags flying all night and yet we won the game.

It may be cheesy, but it ain't easy being Sweezy.

I know there's good reason I'm not a coach making big bucks in the NFL but I'm just not seeing what they are SO enamored with. Was Moffitt really THAT bad?!?
