Okay, sorry for the melodramatic subject line. I'm just kidding. Seriously. No tomatoes please.

However, that was just plain godawful by anyone's standards, I don't care who you are. Outside of a few bright spots (Michael, our run D) this is one we would like to quickly forget.

I just hope the players don't any time soon.

It can be said that these types of games are perfect headed into the regular season, especially a young, talented team with the hype the 2013 Seahawks have. They tend to knock you back down a few pegs as if to say, "Don't believe the hype, boys. Ya still have to show up and play outstanding football." The team as a whole looked like garbage. Yes, like I said, there were some bright spots but when you look at the collective, it's hard to get too jacked and pumped over any individual stand out play.

Russell Wilson looked human. More so than ANY game I have seen him wearing a Seahawks uniform - preseason or otherwise - and I'm trying to decide if that's a good thing. Our expectations have been driven by evidence to the point that he's just missing a halo over his head and a Book of Russell that can be perused over ad nauseum by his countless, devoted followers. It's okay to remember that he is in fact a human being, despite what Moffitt says. Finer football minds than mine like kearly and others, can no doubt uncover some of the reasons for his struggles tonight but I think I'm okay with the fact that Russell Wilson didn't look like Our Lord And Franchise Saviour, but rather a qreat quarterback on-the-rise who simply had an off night in August.

Our starting OL looked like shit. There. Is that astute enough analysis for you? Where's my barf icon.

Is Sweezy the next Whitehurst in terms of rare failed experiments by this otherwise badass coaching and GM regime? Clearly it's too early to tell but signs insist on pointing gently towards the crappy side of things. This experiment has me on edge more than any other right now. Yes he has athletic ability and a ceiling higher than Moffitt but personally I'm not looking forward to any moment in the regular season where Moffitt is eating a bag of Doritos watching ESPN Primetime and getting a good chuckle at our expense.

The penalties are the MOST troubling to me. Coming off of a penalty-laden game against Denver, there can be no doubt the coaches stressed more disciplined play for this game. Instead? It was an abomination. Were the refs flag happy? I would say no doubt. Still, there's enough evidence here to convict the Seahawks in a court of law that some seriously sloppy, penalty-inducing plays took place. The refs might of had some secret bet that he who pulls the most flags wins, but there was cause to do so at least 60% of the time in my estimation. The refs don't get off the hook as they sucked BAD but if Holmgren were dead I would say he is surely rolling over in his grave. How much of this is due to the "player's coach" mentality that Pete brings to the franchise? I don't argue with the success his style of coaching brings, but it behooves me to mention there is a double-edged sword to that style and it manifests in the form of sloppy, penalty-rich play.

Like I said, I will let the finer football minds like kearly help us off the ledge (or force us to jump, let's wait and see) but these 44-year-old eyes still bring 20/20 vision to the table.

Yes it's preseason. Yes we have a lot of starters out. Yes we are playing vanilla, etc, etc, etc...

But when a team as good as ours looks as bad as they did, it's only human to question things. Like Russell Wilson. Human.

Well, until the regular season starts that is.

But on the flip side we still just won a game on the road in Lambeau Field (one of the toughest venues in the NFL) while playing like crap...

Ugly game, but holy shit, the officiating was TERRIBLE. Some atrocious calls (and non-calls) that boned both teams, especially Seattle.

Any time you have officiating that awful, you are guaranteed an ugly game. Lucky for us, it was an ugly win. I think bad officiating effects the flow of the game too. You get enough backbreaking penalties on horrible calls, and people get frustrated and mistakes start happening.

OL was decent, I blame RB blocking, some HERPADERP sacks from our QBs, and Bevell's hesitance to call a screen even though GB was blitzing almost non-stop. But the OL was actually pretty ordinary tonight I thought.

Sorry the SB venue is like 10 minutes away from my house. I'm going, and so are the Seahawks.

I agree . This was a great game to win . These types of games come up a few times a season we need to learn how to gut it out to a win.

There's no such thing as an ugly win, but this one came close. Wilson actually looked sharp as hell in the first quarter but was befuddled in the second (I have never seen him force a pass into coverage the way he did on that second interception before.) Above all else, though, they have GOT to pay off the penalties! Good [edited because this isn't the Smack Shack] grief!!!

The penalties and Sweezy are my big concerns right now.

Good grief, the man was a freakin' turnstile tonight! Did a great job of run blocking on that Michael touchdown, but damn that kid needs to learn how to pass block.

Turbin is still below average pass blocker. Time to move Michaels up the depth chart.

Sweezy had 2 holding penalty's and unnecessary roughness hitting late in like the first 10 minutes.

Turned it off.

/wish we still had Moffitt. Turbin is just "okay", still runs right into tackles, doesn't have that vision or elusiveness of Michaels, and I have questioned his pass catching ever since his wide open drop vs. SF for a sure TD.

He has been a turnstile in every game he has played. He just sucks at pass blocking...and it's a big problem. I think they are excited about his athleticism to the point they are a little snow blind with reality.

Honestly, at this point if Carp was healthy I'd start him at LG and McQuistan at RG.

Michael blew a block for a sack later too, and it wasn't against Clay Matthews like Turbin's.

In the past we lose this type of game almost every time.

And they have looked way superior to the other teams they played and were due a fall to earth.

To get out of Green Bay with a win like that even in pre-season I'll take it!

I too hate the penaltys and Wilson losing his way in the 2nd quarter. I think he was doing a Matt Hasslebeck,,,,,trying to do it all himself rather than taking what they give you.

We won at Lambeau Field!

Wilson looked pretty good tonight.

The first int had 2 WRs running curl routes and it got batted at the line...tipped by a second guy into the hands of a 3rd guy, just unlucky
The second int im not sure what Wilson was seeing. The CB had inside position and their was a safety deep on it. On his right side he had all day to just run nobody even there. Having said that idk how the WR was running that route. If they slowed up then they could of caught it running full speed or at least knocked it down. Im not too worried about it because he might of just been taking a risk since its a preseason. Usually he is very careful with the football and half of his turnovers last year came from drops from WRs or WR slipping.

I was thinking this. Greenbay is hardly a slouch (even with their running game consisting of all short passes...heh), and they were SUPER motivated to beat us for "revenge".

Wilson forced the second one, pure and simple. He won't do that again.
