Pete is too old and lost too many steps as czar for an entire football operation. But he is still energetic and in the early years, we certainly benefited from Pete's knowledge on college players.

Pete isn't a draft wiz, that was Scott who did the legwork for them back then.
Pete doesn't need a dumpster fire of a franchise to muddy him up more.

That's being generous. First 3 yes. Drafts 4 and 5 were both brutal. Out of 20 picks, we got Justin Britt and Luke Wilson. And Wilson wasn't anything special, just a fan fav, while Britt was solid but no pro bowler or anything.
