It’s where they begin slide
exactly he was giving himself up shouldn't it be where he began to give himself up? gene saying now though that it should be where the ball is.

So, when the quarterback gives himself, is the spot where the ball is when he starts to go down, or where the ball is when his knee hits? I thought it was where he starts to give himself up!
100% SAME... BUT... apparently not... lol

I thought the same but I guess it doesnt work that way when he isnt sliding feet first. Apparently. Certainly not a lot of consistency from the NFL

Think of all the times a QB has dove for a TD. They don't call him down when he starts his dive. The QB is only down when he gives himself up if he slides feet first.

Yeah it should be where he gave himself up. It's been like that for couple years now. I didn't like the change
