Who would they extend? Dodson, Baker, and Williams are the only notable big-budget free agents next season. I can't imagine we'd extend them after one game, though. The other candidates would be Woolen, Lockett, and Geno.

I don't think we should be thinking about extending anyone of that OL right now so Williams is out, Lockett is not getting extended (I imagine), and I think Geno's in a 'prove it' year, so I feel like it'd have to be a defensive player if they are worried about extensions, which--as you said--I don't think 1 game is enough for most of the new guys.

I would hope they are trying to find somebody on the market they can sign to shore up the OL, but I have my doubts there is anyone available... that said, if Fant's injury is bad, they might not have a choice.

Nobody has to “ask” anything with most restructures. It’s an accounting/salary cap issue and usually the player ends up with money sooner than they would have otherwise.

I'd say exactly the opposite about DK. I think it signals they're more likely to extend him. We shall see.
