Has Greg Olsen been worth the $7 mil. contract?

I remember when we signed him a lot of folks were questioning the $7 mil. and should it have been used for more pressing positions. There is always the behind the scenes stuff where he could be of great value in teaching guys like Dissley, Hollister etc on how to be better pros. Specifically though on the field what are your thoughts on his worth at $7 mil?

Still think it was a bad signing and the cap space should've been used elsewhere. Wilson appears to have lost confidence in him.

I think it was an insurance policy for the oft injured Dissly who is coming back slowly. Olsen hasn't been terrible but not great either. 7 mill seemed like a lot.

Overpriced but I do think it helped appease Wilson. If Disney goes down we've will be glad we have him. He has made a few clutch plays. Also think his leadership is valuable.

I think he's been a nice security blanket at times but not worth the price tag. Still think he makes to overlooked plays throughout the year and nice insurance to Dissley.

I like Olsen, but comparing the impact he has had to what might have been the case had we spent that money to help out our D line and edge, I still question that move.

The Seahawks had a very good offense last season, despite Hollister/Willson being the top two TEs and not letting Russ cook in the first half of games.

Money needed to go towards defenders.

I think its been worth it. Despite that one drop pass that cause Wilson first INT, he has had quite a few 3rd down clutch catches. He is not liability when he is on the field. All our games has been close, i want him on the field at the end.

Because of the success of Lockett and Metcalf, the TEs have not gotten as much of opportunities to be receivers. Olsen hasn't been extraordinary but he hasn't been a wasted signing like a Cedric Ogbeuhi or Phillip Dorsett either.

Dissly, Hollister and Willson can make clutch catches too, but maybe wouldn't have to if they spent the money on legit defenders rather than overpriced offensive vets

I loved his competitive juice at the start of the season, but he has been playing like a shell of himself lately. I would have rather spent the money on a DT in the off season. I still root for him to make a play.

Agreed, I also think it was a lot better deal than what we wound up paying for Grahams services.

I don’t recall that. I recall a clutch fourth down catch and everything else could have been done by dissly.

You're worth whatever someone is willing to pay you. In a true free market these guys would get even more.

Maybe 2 million but not 7. Long gone is the Olsen who played with Cam Newton back in 14-15 season

I like him and he has been good, but I don't think he was worth 7 million. We already had clutch tight ends! Hollister is a very solid player who lots of teams would like and are willing to trade for. And I love Luke and Dissly as well!

How do I politely put this...Hes a bum ! He caught one pass and recovered a on side kick. Dropping two passes back to back in the end zone.

He needs to be traded to the Canadain foot ball league for 5 bottles of maple syrup. I think we'd win that trade.

Considering he's the 29th ranked TE in the league... I'd have to say no.

Yeah he was a liability out there today. I would rather have Luke Willson out there.
Give more playing time to Hollister if you're not going to trade him.
Try Colby Parkinson, he's a giant
Give Dissly more playing time

Anything but Greg Olsen
