Of course the team knows, the 2nd opinion is upon the issue of whether surgery is likely to be needed to deal with the small tear Pete announced today.

This guy seems to love to be in the forefront of the news and what better way than an endless series of "injuries". This is already bothering me. C'mon Percy, you just got paid a huge some of coin. Are you going to be a "football player" and man up and help your team win or are you going to continue to have an endless need for attention and babying? Step up, man up and help your team win. Otherwise, I'm sorry as hell we traded a first and a third for you.

Just my 2 cents and feel free to blast away on me cuz I don't care. It's my opinion and no one's going to change it but him by getting out there and PLAYING FOOTBALL LIKE HE'S PAID TO DO.

I feel you man. No one wants to hear anything other than positivity on day #1 and I totally get that, but this exactly the type of thing that made him even available for trade in the first place. Lets just hope this is a minor speed bump for him...but I am seriously bummed and I think its a big deal.

Nice to see we're on the same page. You also put it more succinctly and rationally than I did. Thank you.

We all deserve this for not listening to Vikings fans. Sure would love to have 10m in cap space, a 3rd round pick and Cordalle Patterson right about now.

Yeah there are mixed reports. First said hip and now labrum.

There's a labrum in the hip as well as the shoulder.

Teammates of Percy Harvin don't think the hip injury is serious, but the team has to do everything to find out if Harvin needs surgery.

The Seahawks at the moment simply don' know if Percy Harvin has a torn labrum in his hip. That's why he needs a second option.

So the Seahawks pay their team physician a boat load of money in additon to the ton of money he already makes and they have to get a second opinion? I think it's garbage statement to say that the Seahawks "don't know" if he has a torn labrum or not. You pay a player that much money you're gonna get him the best testing possible to see if what the injury is. The fact that they want a second opinion is fine in my book but don't say they don't know what his condition is.

1) Specific expert opinion is more worth
2) Your team doctor says play on - the player says I need a second opinion. Right now from what is reported the team knows he has the injury but says it won't get worse so he can play on it... of course the guy will get a second opinion

I'm excited as anybody to see what Percy can do for this offense but count me in the group that believes we don't need him to be successful. If he can play, awesome. If he can't, we'll survive. I've felt that way all along. Ask Wenhawk and T-Sizzle.

Yes an injury that looks like it was confirmed by team doctor but stated he can play on that lands him on the PUP is because he has a bad personality.....totally makes sense :sarcasm_off:

See, this is the kinda over-reaction that is just dumb and always makes this place just melt down for no reason.

The guy is a straight up baller. Hes the best WR in the game sanz Calvin and Fitz. With the added mobility and speed for return duties. To even pretend like his pick up wasnt a great move is just naive. This injury as of right now has been so overblown its not even funny. We have an 8 page thread, along with 2 other growing threads in 3 hours over no concrete information besides Pete Carol saying "we'll have to wait and see". But I will tell you what. The decisive truth is, PFT knows how to sell news to chumps. And we make fun of them all the time for their overblown rumors, but my god if it doesnt get everyones panties in a wad.

Kjr saying IF he needs surgery, it's 12 weeks to recover.

It's not garbage at all. A torn labrum is difficult to diagnose without arthroscopic surgery. The team may or may not suspect a tear, but it's perfectly reasonable that they would have to send Harvin to a specialist to find out for sure. They are getting him "the best testing possible" by getting the second opinion.

The 2nd opinion was probably requested by Harvin with maybe a little counseling from the NFLPA. There is a certain level of distrust of team doctors from players and the NFLPA.

So middle of October or early November? Assuming the surgery happens as early as possible.

Why are we waiting on a second opinion now? From what I've read to qualify for the pre season PUP a player can't have practiced a single minute. These injuries had to be known before today.
