These guys have made it through a full half-season and contributed in important roles to our football team after several years of pain and hardship.

I feel really good for them.

Definitely good to see them out there.

I always think the "injury prone" label is way over used in football. Huge men running at insane speeds, people are going to get hurt and sometimes bad luck happens to the same guy several times. Hopefully these guys have put the bad luck behind them and will continue to get better.

Thurmond especially has lived up to his billing. I feel completely comfortable slotting him in for Browner next year. And as much as we hate Carpenter, he has been made to look good by our backup tackles.

Word.

Not to mention the lingering little injuries that pop up andmake a player start compensating until they blow tire.

I never seen carpenter run at anything close to "insane speeds".

Carpenter can run? Who knew?

Now if he could just pass block.

Agree about Thurmond and never had an issue with Carpenter in the first place.

When I purchase my NFL franchise (putting a little aside each paycheck) neither you nor Cable will be building my offensive line so get that outta your head, not rat cat, but rat now.

Never said I could build a team just said I have no issue with him and believe he's been snakebitten and starcrossed.

Though you should consider taking a loan out to bolster your kitty. Just a suggestion.;)

KC, you can become my first investor. Give say, $10, $20 Or even $50 to the kitty. You don't have to give till it hurts, maybe just to the annoying state. Like when you get an itch in the arch of your gas pedal foot when you're driving down the road. :thirishdrinkers:

Nice thread bfs. I've been thinking about this too lately, and they really do deserve a ton of credit for working hard and continuing to fight the good fight. It's paying off for them and hopefully they can make it through the rest of the way. I think they'll only get better with time and this might not be the best from them. I'm sure they're probably pretty inspirational figures to their teammates. And no matter what ESPN thinks, I thought Thurmond's throwback outfit from a few weeks ago was pretty damn cool. Someone needs to get Carp a matching one and you've practically got a sitcom writing itself. 2 dude's, 1 an OL and the other a CB, brought together due to countless hours in the trainers office. It'd be like Rob and Big.

Keeping my fingers crossed that both get to say they made it through a 16 game NFL regular season come season's end.

Especially impressed with Thurmond. Having that many setbacks would cause me to probably lay down the uniform and polish my resume. That's perseverance.

As for Carp hopefully he's in better shape and is finally getting it. I always felt his injuries were a factor of being overweight. He's done great this year.
