Our defense actually tackling the ball carrier was another nice adjustment from last season.

This is the difference from the previous regime. It was almost that PC was too proud and stubborn to adjust , rather saying " we do what we do and we'll make it work".

I think that was a major part of his downfall . The hubris to not address that his system was being figured out and exploited .

I've never been a firm believer in the fact that teams actually make the so-called "Halftime Adjustments" but there is no denying something changed at Halftime. A totally different attitude came out on to that field for the 3rd & 4th qtrs.

Nice to see.

Oh, the announcer said something about the O-line decreasing their splits for the 2d half. Tightened up the pocket, maybe.

But shifting to the running game did the most. In the first half it looked like he was trying to use the passing game to loosen things up for the running game. That didn't work, so Grubb reversed it and K9 took over.

Its early bro, they get NO time to play in preseason. its a totally new offense with new O line pieces. they will steadily improve.
I hope so. I was get skeptical when college offense coordinators enter the NFL. I told a few friends months ago that if any part of this team struggles it will be the offensive side of the ball. Grubb's offense may have worked in the college level but it may not work in the NFL. I always think about Steve Spurrier from back in the day and his college offense in the NFL. It was a MASSIVE failure on every level.

Playing together a short time, new offense, and 1st game adjusting to speed after pre season. Also who was making line calls? That could be an issue also not everyone on same page. They tightened it up and Walker feasted.

Rookie QB looked all right in the 1st quarter when following the script, but definitely was seeing ghosts by the 2nd half when adjustments went in.

I went from thinking Grubb did a horrible job to....damn, nice adjustments in game. I'm still pissed about the ridiculous play calling from the 1 though. Shotgun? Behind THAT O Line? from the 1? And then you double down and do it again? Brutal.

Also, up 13 and you have a chance to call run plays and make them burn their timeouts........two incomplete passes. Just way too aggressive. And trust me, as a UW fan I saw him do this a LOT. Games they could have easily just drained the play clock and won by a couple touchdowns. Got aggressive and let the other team stay in it. Time management and being over aggressive is something I hope he improves on. And I'm a huge fan of Grubb. Just had some bad flashbacks in that 4th quarter.

But, it was his first ever NFL game, so we'll see how it plays out. I suspect coach Mike won't be having that sh** in the future.

-- The only halftime adjustment was mentioning to Grubb that our new right tackle is slow of foot but big and powerful. How about you just run the damn ball.
