I didn't wanna blame refs but.....how many times are we gonna see steering to keep a team close???
I laugh at the folks melting over the refs - usually - but the drive today that allowed them to get to 17 would’ve probably led to a blow out - it was odd and only a bit fishy

Up by 20 twice, gave up some garbage time scores. Meh. We've seen this several times. In most of their wins, they are blowing out a team. I do get the frustration when they let a team make a partial comeback.

It does when you realize that HOW you win has predictive power.
Nah. You either win or you don't. Has nothing to do with the next game.
Been down this road too many times. Not gonna argue. Long since made my point and opinion. 8-3. On to next Sunday.

I dont know about anyone else but watching this game. I never felt like the Titans were gonna come back. Even with all the garbage time yardage and points Tennessee got.

I was livid on the 4th and short conversion that was clear as day a confirmed stop - Mac challenged… they reviewed and STILL called it a first down. That crew is horrendous!

Weren't we missing 2 DLmen, our starting ILB and his backup, plus our starting Safety and his backup?

There may have been someone else in there as well. When you lose pro bowl players on defense, sometimes games can get sloppy. When you also miss your top 2nd tier players, special teams can also get sloppy.

Tennessee's defense isn't bad and we roasted them pretty good. They also have a QB who will soon be a force. Had flashes of Steve McNair during that game.

As to the Rams win and common opponents between us, when we played Tampa, half our defense was out. If we play that game again in Seattle or even their house with a full strength roster, we win easy.

It all comes down to our 2nd game with the Rams. We shouldn't drop any between now and then. Sure, the Colts are the Cinderella of the season, but they will come to earth when they have to play a complete team again. Besides, they haven't faired well against the NFCW. That shouldn't change against us.

Some NFL teams can do that yes

The 2025 Titans cannot
You're not factoring in momentum / desperation and the fact our pass rush was gassed. You could see it on the previous drive (and very understandable given how the second half went).
This would not have been a 1% chance; there would be genuine concern if they had recovered.

And still put up a 30 burger. With our backup C and Zable playing thru injury. Plus, the defense was missing not only a couple starters, but a backup or two as well. They put that team together with Duct tape and still were up by 20, twice. I was expecting a blowout, just probably wasn't realistic. Felt like it was heading that way in the 3rd quarter.

It took them 5 full minutes and two timeouts to travel 60 yards on the just finished drive

There were 40 seconds left and no timeouts left

Other than a 1% hail Mary, there was no legitimate threat

He was almost a yard short

There was a clear shot of him down, with the ball, well short, right down the line

It was an atrocious call, and even moreso not to overturn it

I think we will need the Rams to drop another. Obviously it's too early to have a great feel on the tie breakers, but, if you plot out the likely future, they are going to win on common games (they beat the Buccaneers.)

Key games to determining the final ranking

Week 13 Chicago - Philly - could affect the #1 seed overall

Week 15 Rams - Lions - the most likely Rams loss, which we need

Week 15 Hawks - Colts - toughest game left on the schedule other than rematch

And of course Hawks -Rams rematch

nonsense, 1%?! - they had time for numerous plays with the time left in the game to gain 60 yards. As we have seen over and over and over again in the NFL these things are highly possible especially when the D line is suffering with fatigue. IF they had 5 seconds left and it was a hail mary from the recovery spot then 1% would be about right, not with almost a minute on the clock. Whatever % AWS or anyone else is giving them from that spot, it was that % too high for where the game should have been at this point.

Again, some teams with legit playmakers might have a slightly better chance

The Titans in 2025 are not that team

Every single drive they scored on was incredibly time consuming for a reason

Save for a fluke play, they were not scoring a touchdown with 40 seconds and no timeouts

Take care!
