That Raiders OL is horrible under the direction of Pete Caroll's sons. Not sure anyone can run behind that line.

Plus I wouldn't have drafted a RB that high anyway.

I don't like spending high draft picks on running backs for two major reasons: The league does not emphasize running backs like they used to. It's a quarterback's league. Secondly, the position is the most injury-prone on the field.

As far as the subject of the thread goes, it's pretty hard to judge a rookie running back playing for a horrible team in the form of the Raiders. They're the 31st ranked team in overall offense. It's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. I'll give him at least another season, perhaps another team, before I pronounce him a bust.

Knowing about football is one thing, spouting unfounded hyperbole to get a reaction is another.

Didn't like Jeanty as the #6 pick, it was way too high, but I don't think you can fairly evaluate him after this year based on how epically terrible the Raiders' offensive line is (after Miller and Powers-Johnson got hurt). I mean one of their starting tackles is Stone Forsythe.

It was a huge mistake drafting a RB that high. Many teams could have traded for that spot. John could have parlayed that pick into a handful of team building picks. Homerun picks are for teams further into a rebuild. They read the tea leaves very poorly. So the Raiders will be picking high across the board again. Will they fare any better? They need an oline and a pro coordinator. Looks like a promising year for quarterbacks and Oline. When I watch Jeanty he doesnt look all that explosive to me.

Pete taking a RB too early when better picks are available? Nahhh. Don’t believe it.

By the way, Christine, CJ, and Rashaad say hi.

Jeanty is a very good player. He's in a horrible situation with a head coach who is in over his head at this stage, a QB who is really struggling, an offensive line that is bad and an OC that was fired. Why teams draft running backs in the top 6 with a ton of holes only to see it backfire every single time is truly baffling

I believe Holani was drafted a year before Jeanty. So Jeanty basically replaced Holani if I recall.

Holani wasn’t drafted. He was a UDFA who was brought on board in 2024. Jeanty was drafted in 2025.

The two overlapped at Boise State in 2022 and 2023 with Jeanty taking over the primary role in 2023.

In 2023 Jeanty rushed for 1,347 yards, while Holani netted 748.

In 2022 Holani had 1,157, and Jeanty had 821.

Basically the same stats, just reversed.

So only A year before is correct. The rest is ESPNish. I wonder if I can get a job there as a reporter. LMAO

I can't agree yet. He may very well be a bust but I've learned not to judge someone after 1/2-3/4's of a rookie season on an actual bottom of the barrel garbage team with no help. Not many Rb's could run behind that line, not even Barry Sanders

I think he'll be a good RB. I doubt he'll ever live up to his first round pick status, like a Bijan, Gibbs, or Barkley. There were a handful of draft analysts who thought Hampton was the better back of the two. Like many, I was a bit leery of taking him high after the Penn State game, where he didn't stand out.

I disagree. But I have a willingness to learn. I think in the right system, he would be fantastic. Et Al Shawn Alexander. The raiders suck and need more than one savior. And I dont mind that they suck. In fact they can suck a lot more in my opinion. AFC and well, they suck.
The Raiders have a horrible line. He would be 100% more effective with a mediocre offensive line.

I don't think he's a bust. At least not yet.

The Raiders are a monumentally shitty team. Pathetic. There is not an aspect of their play that is not bad.

I'm afraid Pete may be one and done in Vegas. It has gotten really ugly. There is no hope and he continues to have no answers.

Pete is gone there. The fans want him gone and the team is a mess. He hasn't built up goodwill for a few more seasons. He is exposed there.
