This is $4.6m/yr average over the next four seasons for a potentially critical piece to the #1 thing circumscribing the franchise's success over the past decade. That is the good kind of cheaping out on on the OL.

To put that into perspective, here are what some other recent players have made here:

Gabe Jackson made $16m over two seasons
Dre'Mont Jones made $35m over two seasons
Will Dissly made $17m over two seasons after his rookie deal
Shelby Harris made $8m in his one season
Gerald Everett made $6m in his one season
Jamal Adams made $50m over four seasons
Greg Olsen made $6.9m in his one season
Brandon Shell made $9m over two seasons
Zeke Ansah made $8m in his one season
Luke Joeckel made $7m in 2017 dollars in his one season

These draft picks are such an enormous asset if you have someone good making the selections.

So JS thinks $4.6 million per year for a starting guard is over paying? That's the dollar amount that has kept the Seahawks in mediocre ville for years??

$4.6 is nothing in the grand scheme of a championship. Can you imagine how ridiculously cheap a freak stand out Guard would be in the 2nd round? We are talking pennies...and JS hasn't drafter one in how long?

Hey, great job JS for moving in the right direction this year, but ownership needs to fire his butt. 1 year worth of drafting 1 guard in the upper rounds (Biggest need) is not job security worthy.

I am happy to be proven wrong. Honestly I want to see the silver lining in this.
