Upshot #1 is, basically, you can't judge a player purely by whether they appear to be close to the ball carrier after the pass, or whether they make a play on it. For all you know, a player did his job perfectly and killed a route, the pass rush never got home, the QB reached his 4th read and threw, someone else wasn't there, and the player had to hustle over from the far side of the field and missed a difficult tackle.
Upshot #2 is that we need pass rush. A lot of this improv crap doesn't happen with Bennett, Avril, and Clemons limiting QB's time.
Upshot #3 is that Mychal Kendricks is having an awful year. Not just the coverage errors, but I've seen countless missed tackles from him.
