Geno Stone, Safety, UFA

I noticed that Geno Stone is an UFA from the Browns. However, he played for the Ravens under Mike Macdonald. I wonder if they are looking to possibly sign him. He played very well when he was with the Ravens. https://www.espn.com/nfl/player/_/id/4240575/geno-stone.

I'd be cool with it. He was an absolute ballhawk his last season in Baltimore before dropping off on the Bengals, who were arguably the worst defense in the league the past two years. Assuming the guaranteed money is low, I think he could be a worthy reclamation project given our depth in the secondary.

This is how I see it too. I'm putting more weight to his time with the Ravens while Macdonald was the DC. He led the NFL with 7 Ints.

He'd just be a cheap depth piece at this point, who wouldnt be expected to be the answer to anything. It's a bit different than what he was looking at two years ago.

I get that. Not like we're lacking vet players on defense.

I'm a fan of cheap reclamation projects, but if they decided to bring him in and a safety they really like falls to them in the draft, don't let this Geno be the reason they don't take him.
