I don't know that Tua is better than Me3 right now, I think the drama
Me3 causes and his old age favors Tua but that's it.
You might be right, I only saw a couple of Dolphins games last year. But I think it's unfair to put Tua's last season all on him. Tyreek Hill was lost early in the year, and Jalen Waddle just hasn't been great the last couple of years. On top of that, the Dolphins had one of the worst offensive lines in the league last year. And the team just stopped playing hard for Mike McDaniel at some point. That was just a dysfunctional team all around. It wasn't all Tua's fault.

As if half of the NFL fan base would say no to a Chief Tasting Officer job.

With a season like last year, why should anyone be surprised?

My questions:
Did Metcalf, JSN, and Lockett save Geno for a few years? or
Did the Raiders' OC, and the receiver corp. sucked that badly?

If I was an owner, GM or coach, I wouldn't want Geno within 100 yards of a 1st or 2nd round rookie QB . People with emotionally unstable attitudes like he has shown are typically not good mentors.
As a back up for a veteran QB, I'd consider it, but i think there are a few better options out there.
He's a pretty moody guy for a QB. That said, he mostly seems like a great teammate since his Jets days. I think he's overly-competitive and gets pissed too easily, and he's the type to stew instead of scream.

I still remember him being incredibly supportive of Lock when he started against the Eagles, down to the celebration at the end when Lock won it (even knowing that it'd cause many fans to call for him to lose his job). That, to me, proved that he put team above how people perceive him when the chips are down.

That said, I wouldn't sign him as a backup solely to mentor a rookie. I'd sign him as a backup if my starting quarterback was decently established but perhaps injury prone. Denver and Washington make some sense to me. Jacksonville too, as he's better than Mullens.

Ironic from him considering CTE and the NFL selling a million gambling sites.
Yeah, not much of a point here. I love him as a player but I wish he'd take stuff like this a lil more lightly.

Just a moody guy. Probably a bit bitter. Wish it had worked out for him at some point.

Geno's behavior during his DUI arrest and his implying that multiple coaches of his were racists by rationalizing his failure to win a starting job in the 6–7-year interim between his Jets and Hawks gigs really soured me on him.

One of the plays that sticks out in my mind was vs. the Niners in 2024 where Metcalf ran a sloppy route, wasn't where he was supposed to be, and caused Geno to throw a pick. Rather than going up to Metcalf and/or the coaching staff to figure out what went wrong, he went and sat down on the bench my himself then spiked his tablet in frustration.

Those are reasons why I don't think he'd make a good mentor as a backup to a rookie and quite likely the reason why the Raiders released him. I think he's done.

I think the Seahawks just had a really good team surrounding Geno. It seemed like there was an expectation in LV for Geno to raise that team up around him. Geno went from a perfect spot to improve as a qb to being all on his own with all the expectations put on his shoulders, I don’t think geno ever had the kind of will to lead a team in that way.

We're probably only 1-2 wins worse with Geno but are also a wildcard team that almost certainly isn't getting past the Rams. Geno's got a really unique thing going on with him. He's one of the most okay QBs ever and also one of the hardest QBs for people to acknowledge as just okay at the same time.
It’s because if you’re just ok you better have a good attitude and geno is ok and cancer. Fuc cancer

Geno was never going to be the guy. And yes I do believe Genooo benefited from the talent he had on offense. This team has been loaded for a couple years. Once we got the right coaching it showed. If Geno wouldn't have been so self centered and maybe not let all the negative stuff get in his way it might have worked. You can have all the talent in the world but if you dont got it mentally it won't work. Pete really had to babysit him so he could control his emotions. Once Pete wasn't able to hold him by the hand Genooo fell apart. Poor Pete though he could count on him in Vegas to hold the offense together while trying to fix a broken defense and it went to the crapper.

Doesn't Wendy's know he's a turnover machine in the redzone? He'll drop the burger while flipping it
Maybe they're thinking about introducing turnovers - great marketing tie-in, especially if they're cherry (get it - red like cherries). Every time he throws an interception in the red zone, it's a 'cherry turnover' special at Wendy's.
