We're probably only 1-2 wins worse with Geno but are also a wildcard team that almost certainly isn't getting past the Rams. Geno's got a really unique thing going on with him. He's one of the most okay QBs ever and also one of the hardest QBs for people to acknowledge as just okay at the same time.

Doubt anyone signs him. His career is likely over. Geno had a half of a good year ever. The fact anyone stands up for him is crazy. I wouldn’t take Geno over any Seahawks starting qb since Holmgren took over.

If you're betting he won't even get signed as back-up, I'm sure a bunch of us will happily take your money.

He"ll try and get signed as a back up but not sure if his ego can take it now. Especially if it's the Jets. Should be good drama no matter what.

I think someone eventually does once injuries kick in. Some will think it was the raiders scheme that contributed to him struggling.

So many teams don't have a quarterback. I predict Kyler, Geno, Kirk and Tua all find starting jobs this year. But not so much Russ. I don't think anyone thinks Russ is an NFL starting QB anymore.

I don't know that Tua is better than Me3 right now, I think the drama
Me3 causes and his old age favors Tua but that's it.

He's the Rorschach test of quarterbacks.

He has enough natural talent and fundamental prowess for film-based viewers to see a potentially great quarterback being held back by bad situations.

He also does enough dumb stuff while pressing to make something work in said situations for most people to say "holy hell, that's why he's got the rep he does."

I think the discourse around Geno reflects how anybody can see whatever they want to see in his play since his revival in 2021. Confirmation bias therefore affects opinions on him more strongly than it does most other quarterbacks, and that goes both ways.

I think Geno is better than he played on the Raiders, but I think he's in precipitous decline physically and his natural arm talent is beginning to wane, which affects his style of play pretty negatively.

If he goes to the Vikings, he can be a Goff-ish caliber as his ceiling (assuming their OL doesnt implode and KOC still has his fastball as an offensive coach). If they don't want him, I really hope he just takes a backup job somewhere, because he's not gonna be able to pull it off. Maybe Denver.

With the quick career demise of RW and Geno after leaving Seattle I am wondering how much of the regular season success was the team covering for their inadequacies.

Nobody is going to confuse me for a Geno fan, but he's experienced and super cheap. I suspect he'll find a new job quickly unless he really digs his heels into the ground about wanting to be the unquestioned starter.

None of the QBs who are going to be highly paid by the releasing teams and who will be contract-limited to minimum wage should accept back-up roles. If they do they won't have any shot at playing in 2027. They're better off waiting for injury vacancies, or waiting for a more than minimum wage final payday in 2027.

That said I know i'll be wrong about this. Some QBs have egos that won't allow them to sit out for a season. They need the limelight.

Kinda thought they'd keep him n let the kid along slowly but throw his azz in the fire now sounds like the plan
Good luck with that
At least he's going to a good/ OC coach
Kubes got some ballz now let's see what happens
What would Mendoza learn from Geno? Also there was absolutely 0% chance of Geno coming back. Last season was an absolute dumpster fire, and from a business standpoint they couldn't tell their fans to look forward to the same thing. It would've been extreme malfeasance. The Raiders releasing Geno was perhaps the most guaranteed move of the entire offseason.

If I was an owner, GM or coach, I wouldn't want Geno within 100 yards of a 1st or 2nd round rookie QB . People with emotionally unstable attitudes like he has shown are typically not good mentors.
As a back up for a veteran QB, I'd consider it, but i think there are a few better options out there.
