That is his biggest problem. He easily had that first down if he didn't slide.
Yeah...no business decision slides there. You go get the first down. That is his biggest problem. He easily had that first down if he didn't slide.
Most quarterbacks do. This offensive gameplan is a crock of rancid shit. This just doesn't work in the NFL.Yes, under pressure he often makes poor decisions. This is why we need quick hitters or a run game to take the pressure off him.
Every other QB in the league knows they need that extra yard and doesn't slide just short. It was incredibly stupid.Would love to hear what people would say if he got lit up and fumbled. Only good outcome there would've been absorbing the contact successfully.
He'd probably get hate for that as well but when you think about both, a huge mental error like that is way worse than coughing up the football trying to get the first.Would love to hear what people would say if he got lit up and fumbled. Only good outcome there would've been absorbing the contact successfully.
Come on. We've seen a million early slides. It is far from unprecedented. It sucks, but most quarterbacks are coached not to take on linebackers who squared up with them. The reason, other than injury, is turnovers.Every other QB in the league knows they need that extra yard and doesn't slide just short. It was incredibly stupid.
That have probably ended up with the Giants having the ball in a similar spot as the TO on downs.Would love to hear what people would say if he got lit up and fumbled. Only good outcome there would've been absorbing the contact successfully.

In an ideal world, sure. I'd like to see him go take that LB on next time to rally the offense. But this isn't an "every other QB in the league" situation. To say otherwise is just... not true.
If he just falls forward there he probably has the 1st. He doesn't need to go full on Beast Mode trying to stiff arm LBs.Come on. We've seen a million early slides. It is far from unprecedented.
