I don’t wear it often but today I’m going to sport my SB48 custom elite.

I’ve got a whole Prime Picanha that I’m putting on soon, I’m smoking it low and slow like a brisket. I expect 7 hrs +/-
Wife making her potato salad, and I have some leftover fresh black eyed peas from 1/1/26

I bought a couple of 4 packs of my current favorite IPAs, and if the game keeps me happy I’ll even enjoy a nice pour of bourbon.
E.H. Taylor (single barrel)

What’s your plan?

I'm gonna wear my Largent jersey. Got a nicely marked choice tri tip that in going to reverse sear medium rare. I like doing tri tips the way you're doing your picanha, but don't have the time today. Hopefully you post some pics! I'm drinking Corona Familiar tonight.

This is my first picanha done this way, Ive smoked them to med rare and sliced like steak before, but this one I’m going low and slow like a brisket. Probably go to about 145 internal wrap in paper and finish to 190. Wrap in foil and rest in yeti for an hour or so.
My hope is that it will be very brisket like (but better)

What dry rub did you go with?

I've done picanha, great cut, I went salt/pepper 50/50 east Texas style and I had it over charcoal on a rotisserie. Magnificent.

I used 2 different seasonings.
Meat Church “holy cow” BBQ rub
Dan-Os steak seasoning.

Went very heavy with both hoping for a nice bark (again like a brisket).

ETA: I’m using a combination of hickory and mesquite for smoke.

I’ll post up the finished product

Unless I kill myself over the outcome of the game.

Got no clue on food. My wife’s dance studio starts back up from Christmas break today so she’s extra busy with that and I’ll be shuttling the kids to their stuff until mid afternoon. So as far as food goes I just told my wife to get whatever they want for takeout after she’s done today.

For the Jersey though I’m breaking out my Christmas present away JSN jersey. First time wearing it.

As an aside the first week of the season I decided my Jersey and we lost ever since then I’ve let my kids choose. Each one gets to choose til they lose and the other starts choosing. So far it’s worked well. A 3 game win streak then a 4 game streak followed by a 6 and counting

I’ve posted an open invitation many times here on .net, and that offer still stands.

I’ve even offered an open door to those that have given me the worst the internet can offer.

I believe that almost every one of us could and would get along great in person, couple of things make me believe such but that’s a conversation of it’s own.

I’m an hour or so north of Houston, if you or anyone else is ever going to be in the area, hit me up and I’ll be happy to get together if at all possible.

Love when you post this @pmedic920 .

I’m being lazy with the food…there’s a little dive bar down the street from my house that makes the most deelish chicken wings. Dry rub lemon pepper wings, all flats…side of yams and collard greens (lots of hot sauce). Mac and cheese…

I’m a white boy but…grew up around black folks…most of my friends are black…and lived with my boys family for three years when I was younger (they were black). Down south…

Whats the relevance here? Soul food…love, love, love soul food. To me, it’s the best food in the world.

Stopped drinking years ago…not because I had a problem. Just never liked feeling like hammered shit the next day. But, IF I do tie one off, it’ll be a Corona and lime…or Hennessy. My alcohol palette may not be as sophisticated as some. I was stationed in Italy and was privy to Guinness straight from the barrel, wine of the Friuli region…nothing comes close.

We’re likely watching tonight’s game at home. My downstairs bar is Seahawk themed and we have a giant projector screen. Epson projector that cost us way more than I’m willing to admit. Wrap around leather, electric recliners….instant heaven.

Breaking out the blue, 50th anniversary JSN jersey tonight. Since we’re staying in, bottoms will be some Seahawk pajamas 😭😂.

My wife doesn’t understand why my son and I throw on jerseys when we stay home…some traditions need not explained!!!

Where abouts down South? I spent 16 years between Florida and Louisiana. Love the southern lifestyle and the people (generally) are awesome. Cuisine is the best in the U.S., especially the Gulf seafood.

Great call on Meat Church's Holy Cow, very pepper forward. Hail Mary is another one we enjoy on red meat.

The wife and I love Matt's seasonings. VooDoo and Blanco are our favorites on chicken, any cut. Hot Honey Hog on pork, obviously.

We're making grilled bison burgers, probably Holy Cow, plus the fixings. Fresh bison too, harvested it in Montana about 5 weeks ago.

Go Hawks.

Going to rock my brand new SBXLVIII Lynch jersey while munching on fresh caught Dungeness crab and EC Wilson's ribeye steak, medium rare. Pairing with a bold, punchy Cabernet Sauvignon.

Capping the evening off (assuming the game ends up the way we want it to) with a Padron 1964 Anniversary cigar and Blanton's bourbon.

I recently snagged a Blanton’s STRAIGHT from the Barrel (very rare around these parts), haven’t opened yet. I thinks it’s about 129 proof, uncut unfiltered.

Anyway Blanton’s in general is a good choice and should be great sippin’ along with that stick.

I'm also wearing my (modern style) Largent jersey today! I just ran over to the passholder gift shop at Universal Studios and spoke some friendly $hit to a couple 49ers jersey-wearers I walked past at the park. :)

Probably go with the hoodie with the retro polo seahawks style over the top. It is kinda cold here. I purchased some boxed Hooters chicken wings daytona and 2 other styles. I will cook some of them up and put on some spices that I will mix. I have not decided what yet. I will also sport my single left hand seahawks snow mitt. I lost the other one on a bike trip downtown. It is approximately 10 miles to downtown. It was snowy uphill both ways. LOL. May run down and get some specialty beer at a local and chill it for the game. Maybe a sixer of Stella and a 4 pack of modelo chelada.

Coming along well.
Coming up to temp quicker than I expected but I certainly don’t mind eating early and snacking later.

Just wanted to comment on the thermometer you’re using. Along with he JSN jersey I got a MEATER thermometer. I’ve been wanting one for awhile but have been just using a cheaper wired thermometer. I’ve gotten to use it a few times already and LIVE it. Don’t know how I survived without it.

Yea I’ve like mine as well.

I think there are now a couple other brands that folks like even better, but as long as mine keep working I’m going to rock them.

I even use them for ribs and fish to monitor my temps. I just insert them into a potato to protect the electronics.

It’s so nice to walk away or even run to the store and be able to know what’s going on.
