I received a text from a friend of mine after the game and he asked me how worried I was after being down 14-0 so quickly. I told him I wasn't worried at all. The guy I watched the game with also had the same concern. I voiced a similar response to him.

The main reason for any kind of concern was how well Washington was running the ball - and it seemed that BB was out of position and a few steps slow to start the game, and Red Bryant wasn't controlling his end of the line very well - these are things I expected to be adjusted for at halftime. My big concern was after two possessions from WAS, could they be slowed enough for our offense to score some points. After all, the biggest Madden advantage in real football - take the ball in the 2nd half - would help if we could somehow get to within a score by halftime.

Well, the reality started to set in for the Redskins. That same 3 and out we had on our first drive happened to them, and their defense was on the field for most of the 2nd period. RGIII was cooling down on the bench with a sore knee, and Alfred Morris and the linemen were all cooling off as well. We get the final drive of the half, then the first drive of the 2nd half and all in all I'd say the Redskins played offensive football for about 5 minutes of a full 90 minutes of real clock time.

We continued to own the third quarter without scoring any points and it was bound to happen. I leaned over and told my buddy, "This will go down as a 4th qtr comeback for Wilson" - and sure enough, the wheels started coming off of Washington - they couldn't stop us and Lynch waltzes into the end zone on a classic Beast Mode run.

I would go so far as to say that the lack of TOP (and great field position from Ryan) for the Redskins contributed to RGIII's injury and turnover that sealed the game. Being out of rhythm for such a large portion of the game makes it really hard to execute your offense. Once up by two scores, there's no way Cousins can mount a comeback - just pin 'em back and get after him.

I love this team!!
