Game day superstition?

Does anyone have game day superstitions?

My father passed away the November prior to the February 2, 2014 Superbowl. The last present he left me was a hawks t-shirt. I’ve worn that shirt every game since. Through the superbowl win, all the way through last year. This year I retired it and changed to a new hawks t-shirt, and let’s say, it’s paying off. What say you?

I’m in Seattle for this one. Game day is always the same.

Use parking app to reserve cheap parking about 1.5 to 2 mi from stadium.

Park. Hit Le Panier. Walk around downtown. Eat at Elliott’s. Hit the stadium.

I will be cleaning my barn with extra fervor...especially at 0 degrees.

I have to wear seahawks gear. Preferably something that has a consistent winning record. Some of my jerseys and shirts are cursed

Been wearing my wife’s thongs and using pantyhose on my head to make myself look like a villain.

Haven’t lost when I’ve done it.


But, for real though… Lemon Pepper wings, 10 piece, all flats. That’s our tradition!

When we won in 2013, I listened to Among the Living that entire playoffs pre-game so this season I started going back to her house for the Rams 2nd game in Seattle and been watching all the games since. I only put the Anthrax back on pre-49er divisional and we murdered them!

I find that my various items of schwag have intermittent mojo powers. For the longest time I relied on the juju of a long sleeved seahawks t-shirt I got free with a subscription to Sports Illustrated. Its magic has faded over the years so I'm reluctant to trust it. Basically I go to the drawer of schwag and wait for one (or more) of them to "speak" to me.

Might wait. if they will I'll obviously watch it if they lose, I'm spared the brutal disappointment to a certain extent. Right now, I'd piss on a sparkplug if I thought it would help.
