Thanks for posting.

I heard this story this morning on NFL network. I assume it has resurfaced as news worthy because the game is in LA .... where network media have studios.

Any news on what kind of surgery and how his current condition affects his play? Doesn't speak well for our back ups that an injured player still beats them out.

I suspect minor surgery being contemplated. Probably something along the lines of lose bodies. They have been waiting for the bye week to minimize games missed. According to the injury report, Luke had Wednesday off but participated fully in Thursday and Friday practices. They prefer to keep his veteran leadership on the field. Should be a full go for today.

I imagine it is a clean-up operation from his previous surgery.

I know people say this about Pocic too at RG, but I think this is overlooking that experience is the key concern for our offensive line right now (and last season). You can get away with plugging a rookie into a group of veterans, but we've been plugging inexperience alongside inexperience and the resulting breakdown in communication has been a huge issue.

It doesn't mean that the coaching staff doesn't have high hopes for Roos, Pocic, or Battle going forwards, only that they want a veteran presence next to our backup LT making his 5th NFL start. It makes a ton of sense for them to start Joeckel today as the Wade Phillips 3-4 scheme relies heavily on confusion.
