Cagy vet. Hasn't been over used this year. I think you're right. He'll be a valuable asset in the playoffs, even without personal playoff experience. Good man to have on the team.

I think Fred Jackson is like a secret weapon, because other teams barely have any 2015 film on him. Heck, there have been a few moments this year when he made a play and I thought, "oh yeah... Fred Jackson is on our team!"

I don't even want to think where this team would be if we hadn't signed Jackson. He has been a huge addition for blocking and experience alone. He doesn't put up huge numbers anymore, but his value is in the things that don't show up on the stat sheet.

Nobody is saying that Jackson will get 20 carries. What we are saying is that he will show up and make plays in a few key situations. He's been doing that all season. He has a tendency to make first downs. As a cagy vet, he knows how to get open in traffic and he knows where the sticks are. He can take a handoff, make a catch, and make a key block in passing situations.

Jackson is one of those guys who doesn't get gaudy stats, but he does the grunt work and the little things that help others do so.

Perhaps you read that from the OP. I didn't. I do think that Fred will contribute at one or two key times to help our team win. IMHO he has been doing that all season and I see no reason he wouldn't continue.

Apparently we have fantasy stat chaser here. Role players are of no value to that type of fan, I suppose. Everyone must put up lots of stats or they aren't helping the team, right? I've also watched Jackson very adeptly pick up blitzers, keeping them away from Russ (very evident against the Cards). I suppose that's worthless as well...sigh!

Oddly, I didn't go there this time, but I agree, Fantasy Football afficionados don't contribute much to the game for me. Chasing individual stats in the ultimate team sport is not something I look for. IAE...

Um no. I can't stand fantasy football. I didn't say Jackson was worthless either. He doesn't play much, that's it. He picks up blitzes well, great, he does his job when he's in. I don't know why you two take that as an attack against Fred.
