After the recent public scandals in basketball and baseball, I have to say that I have had doubts about outside interference to try to fix games in football too! We have all seen some really bad officiating...But I have also noticed times, sorry to be unable to give specific examples... of when our entire team just seemed "off". Maybe more last year than this.

I have worked in both the medical field and construction, and I believe it would be very easy to introduce an anesthetic gas into the ventilation system at the field locker room. Just a mild dose that would not be detected, but would slow everyone down just a little bit...

I have noticed some other teams that have failed unexpectedly too...What do you think??? I believe this could be a real thing. Maybe I am just paranoid, but would appreciate your comments.

It would be hard to sneak in and install it. But I could do it myself using an Arduino mini computer...and then use my phone to activate it. Not hard to do

It only takes an nfl script and getting to a few players to change the outcome of a game or some parlay buster maneuver to make millions. Steering is real as we all saw in XL* and in so many games since. Remember the nfl is classified as sports entertainment.... Watch it for fun but dont always believe what you see as being legit..

I agree. The NFL, their owners flushed with greed, asked for this. They willingly jumped in bed with the gaming industry, and it was only a matter of time before some weak-minded employees of theirs succumbed to the lure of easy money. They've helped the gaming industry grow, and with that growth comes warts.

Or as my dad, who had a saying for everything, would say: "If you're going to sleep with the dogs, don't be surprised when you wake up with fleas."

Same thing my dad said…except replace ‘dogs’ with ‘skeezoids’ and ‘fleas’ with ‘the drip’.

Man…pops had some wisdom.

Agree though. Bad idea and definitely makes you wonder.

Hmmmm...Why did Sam Darnold have problems in the Rams game? A little gas from someone standing next to him, or something in the water bottle? Somehow things just seemed wrong right away...

I was fully strapped in and ridin' with you until your "sleepy gas" theory. Not that it's just so impossible. I just think there's far easier ways to employ the mechanisms they do to get their desired result. About every third game I watch I see a call at a very specific moment/situation where I am FULLY CONVINCED that "a call came down from HQ".

Absent any evidence beyond coincidental, I'm not going to subscribe to a bunch of conspiracy theories. But when the league gets so closely tied to the gaming industry, and as we've seen, some very sketchy people and organizations that it attracts, it leads to suspicion and speculation, which in itself compromises the game and causes people to question its authenticity.

That's why MLB reacted like they did following the Black Sox scandal. They needed to win back the public's confidence, so they had to overreact and create a virtual death penalty for anyone even rumored as being connected with gambling.

The biggest problem with conspiracies, is human's nature of talking/ bragging/ catharsis. Even in the worst crime families, somebody eventually talks, and that's with full knowledge that it isn't just their livelihood they are risking.

It is far easier for me to believe in a compromised ref than a compromised league. Someone would seize the opportunity for infamy or fame, by reporting, if the league was organizing to throw games.

I've got to point out it cannot be scripted when tied into gambling, you see the
uproar its causing with other sports, right?
There is a good reason and it's because if it becomes an issue to a good extent
congress can step in and regulate the NFL, so this fixing or scripting doesn't
happen and you can bet the NFL doesn't want them messing with their setup that
the owners and players make so much money from.

I'm not saying a player or official here and there hasn't done it but it's not like the
days of XL, you got millions of eyes and cams on every game at every angle just
from technology - People don't watch, bet or play FF based on scripted or fixed games.

This Colts game is the second game in a row where the entire team seemed off right from the start...not just one player, but everybody. As the game went on they seemed to "wake up"...
Otherwise this was a pathetic performance by our supposed SB contending team. Why???

I don’t even believe players need to be involved. Look at yesterday’s colts game. That was all officiating. They did their damnest and ignored every hold offensively and defensively for the colts. I believe up until our last two or three possessions, each one prior had a penalty called. Ultimately it was like we’re watching the longest yard and. Was hoping an official would get beamed in the nuts
