Not quite. The QB has the advantage of handling the ball on every offensive down. That's why the QB deflated it, to give himself the advantage when throwing the ball more accurately. That means placing the ball on the WR's side, away from the DB, who is usually a DB because he has stone hands.A deflated ball is easier for receivers to catch, but also easier for defenders. It's a wash.
The DB does not have the opportunity to intercept a pass as often as a WR has the option to catch a pass.
