WTF?
that was barely anything, how are defender’s supposed to see that?

We all saw the lil wave thing he did.The replay showed him waving for a free catch. It was real quick but it was there.
I think where some myself as well confused was how he barely really made that wave off noticeable like you see other players/teams make it obvious.Lots of bad calls but this was on obvious penalty...Not sure what you guys complaining about.
Yes, but wouldn't whichever had the most penalty yards essentially be accepted by the coach (or enforced by the officials?)You could argue that Blount committed 3 penalties on that one. Fair catch interference, hit before the ball got there, and maybe hit to the head of a defenseless player.

Yeah, it was a boneheaded play all around on our side. You could argue that Blount committed 3 penalties on that one. Fair catch interference, hit before the ball got there, and maybe hit to the head of a defenseless player.
if not they really need to add in the rules that it should be clear and concise especially if the nfl wants to make it about "player health & safety"The signal was barely obvious on replay, how are players supposed to see a fair catch signal like that was?
Not sure what the rule book says but I’m pretty sure there is something along the line of “clear/concise”.
So technically it wasn't even a legal fair catch by the rules.. lol (bone headed hit by Seattle regardless) but BUT then it should've been offsetting.Rules say wave back and forth ABOVE THE TOP OF THE HELMET.
If that’s the case.Rules say wave back and forth ABOVE THE TOP OF THE HELMET.
They should have called interference with the catch - different penalty but also 15 yards. If that’s the case.
We got shafted because that didn’t happen.
We didn't get screwed because the ball hit Blount on the back. Clearly he interfered. The attempt at a fair catch signal (the rule says "A fair-catch signal is valid if it is made while the kick is in flight by a player who fully extends one arm above his helmet and waves it from side to side.") should have been ignored, but Blount would have been penalized regardless. If that’s the case.

Solid explanation actually. Thank you!We didn't get screwed because the ball hit Blount on the back. Clearly he interfered.
