Depends on your definition of "great" I guess.

Yeah, we need to get back to greatness this Thurs night. Generally, we do well under the lights. I'm glad we're at home, in spite of our sketchy home performances so far.

GO HAWKS!!!

:snack:

Two things; 1.) IF they know that there's a chance of rain at the CLINK, why not practice in the rain to get their bodies tuned up for it.
2.) I think they're depending too much on HFA.....In their away games, it's like, they know that the odds are not in their favor, so they have to shelve their conservative crap, and open up on their kick-ass...They actually appear to be playing to win.

it wasn't conservative crap that lost the NO game. It was the punt return for a TD, the Fumble for a TD, and a mis lined up player on special teams that went from a missed FG to a TD... Those ALL went the Saints way and they barely won. Seattle lost that game because they did everything wrong. Very uncharacteristic, especially at home.

Slow start bit them in the ass....NOT practicing in wet conditions "Bit Them In The Ass"...The Saints PREPARED and cleated up accordingly, Kamara didn't have slipping problems at the CLINK....You can't spot a Payton PREPARED Team 14 points, that's for sure, but you also have to be able to count on YOUR players to not play 'Slip-N-Slide', because they either weren't prepared for the foul weather (like NO was) and or not wearing the right equipment (the right Cleats)

Bad weather has been a particular issue for this team but I don't think any of us know the root cause. Maybe it's an equipment issue, maybe we practice indoors too much. Or perhaps we put more stock in the combine than in college production in inclement weather, maybe Russ not liking to wear a glove has ripple effects on the offense, or maybe it's a thing they don't think they need to prepare for living in Seattle while other teams work to mitigate. It could be none of those.

It could also just be randomness. Despite being in Seattle there haven't been that many rain games over the last few seasons, and it's plausible that the rainy games have just coincided with the few games where we have played poorly overall and the extra mistake or two due to the rain made it seem worse than it was.

I agree ..Hope the Hawks learned but I've seen them do this before.
It pisses me off as well.

A team can play great and lose or play bad and still win . Every game could go either way . That's why we watch ; because it's unpredictable . IMO

Upon further review of the actual data it's just recency bias. The Seahawks haven't won a game in the rain since 2016, but before that we had won 9 out of 10 total games in rainy weather under Pete Carroll. Thursday will be our chance to get back to our winning ways.

Yes and No....Carson slipped / lost footing SEVERAL times for it to be "Random"....He didn't slip in the Arizona game, not one time.
Just like teams crank up the noise in their practices when they come to the CLINK to play against the Seahawks & the 12's....Adapting to the Noise, rain, Heat is nothing new, NO ( a dome team) didn't show a lot of wear & tear, playing in the exact same conditions, because they obviously took everything into consideration, INCLUDING the rain while prepping outdoors.
