Excited or concerned?

Neither. The team is installing a brand new offense with new terminology, and there are bound to be wrong routes, QB misreads, missed blocking assignments leading to rushed throws, etc. I know that the defense is also new, but lots of picks happen from offensive mistakes, like throwing to the wrong spot. Even a confused defender in the vicinity of the bad throw can make a pick.

If we're still seeing this when the 2nd preseason game rolls around, I'll be concerned about the offense (though not necessarily QBs, as it all depends on whether the receiver was doing the right thing).

The two proposals are not mutually exclusive. ;)

Meh, minicamp. Perhaps they'll all get better with training camp.

I find this exciting. The defense, namely the much maligned secondary, is stepping up and showing they're improved. I like it. The offense has time to do the same. If this were after TC then I might be concerned.

Offenses and defenses even for established head coaches and coordinators with the same team can take time to gel even months into the year.

Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid weren’t firing on all cylinders last year early on. It took them a while to get things rolling for them as well. And that combo is established and are vets in this league.

Might want to taper expectations for the Seahawks and this coaching staff to be firing on all cylinders even at week 8 this season.

It can take even going into the mid year to finally get things rolling smoothly.

Just gotta see how it all plays out and don’t set expectations so high too soon….

The offense will suck in 2024 and it won't even bug me. New coaches don't always rock the world in their first year.

I'm already prepared to be patient for both units. I'm just hoping as the year unfolds its obvious they're heading in the right direction.

Excited. Geno’s a vet and takes care of the ball well. Howell threw the most int’s in the league last year (not putting that all on him..had the most PAs as well).

We know our DB caliber…fingers crossed for Riq.

What I’m anxious to learn is just how good these Auburn DBs are??? Back to back picks? What did JS and Mac see in them and how do they fit?

I have a feeling these two rooks are going to find themselves shining in a loaded DB room.

Excited as shit!!

as several have said, it's a new offense and defenses always seem to start out stronger with a new system.

Not only that, but practice is when I expect the QBs to push the envelope a bit, take some chances that they probably wouldn't take in a game. Geno has shown he'll take care of the ball in a game. I'm not too concerned. I expect growing pains through the early part of the season at least.

It would be a miracle if there were no growing pains through the end of MM's first season

It was intentional by the coaches and the offense to get the D used to obscene quantities of take-aways this season. After all, utter dominance on D is kind of a new thing for them, so you need to ease them into it to avoid the risk of psychological shock in the first couple games of the regular season. Smart.

I'm a defensive guy. So I'm leaning towards excited. As we get closer to the regular season I've said it before I feel the offense will struggle early. But it's to early to tell.
