Ha. Kinda looked that way. No, I was just quoting you as the impetus behind my point.

It's easy for us to get lost along the way. But the ultimate goal of winning a SB isn't the only reason we are fans. The seasons and games themselves are huge reasons as well. Any Seahawks fan who has gone through the years we have would be crazy to scoff at and gloss over a stretch as successful as the one we currently are experiencing. These are the days we put up with the bad times to get to. Live it us, fellas.

Hawks have never been 10-1, 11-1, 12-1... Why do I feel like that is going to happen?

What a fun ride.

I've been a fan since I was probably 7 or so, which is when I started actually liking football (before then, I thought it was boring). I've seen some highs (first season as a fan was Super Bowl XL, I cried when we lost and i'm still not over the calls, Beast Mode's run against the Saints) and the like one low since 2005 (that whole stretch with Mora). I remember the day Seahawk training camp opened this year, I was so excited, because I knew we could go to the Super Bowl this year. I've enjoyed every game this season, even the loss against the Colts, cuz it was fun to deal with a Colts fan in my Language Arts class and a Broncos fan, who thinks the Seahawks suck. I can't wait for the rest of the season to play out and the next few seasons when we still have Russell, Sherm etc. at low prices. I know that this stretch will come to an end someday. but I'm just enjoying the ride right now.

Go Hawks!

Yeah, what is that old ESPN commercial..."So you can say you were there through it all..." Or something like that. It does make the wait worth it. Now get it done Hawks!!

HawkWow, indeed...It is truly astonishing that we are 9-1 with all of our injuries. It clearly shows how deep and talented we are. Best in the NFL if you ask me.

It's funny, Aros. I am so convinced that we are the league's best that I don't (really) even argue the point anymore. I know that's not much fun for my 9er friends, but I really don't need the validation of others. Not this year. I am so convinced that even (god forbid) should we stumble, I will still see this team as the best in the league. Just as I did the 05 team. Last year's team might have been, too. But I just couldn't fully commit because of that short-ass, rookie QB we had. Why does that seem so long ago? LOL. Wilson looks like he's a 5 year man. Just glad he don't get paid like one (yet). ; )

Redemption!

"Suffering is the result of clinging(to bad players)" Buddha

"the Unexamined Season (Life) is Not Worth Living!" Socrates

The Five Proofs are five arguments regarding the existence of Marshawn Lynch:

The first and more manifest way is the argument from motion. It is certain, and evident to the twelveth man, that in the world some things are in motion. (regardless of down or distance)

The second way is from the nature of the efficient play calling. In the world of football sense we find there is an order of efficient causes. There is no case known (neither is it, indeed, possible) in which a thing is found to be the efficient cause of itself; for so it would be prior to itself, which is impossible. (See Micheal Robinson and the Oline)

The third way is taken from possibility and necessity, and runs thus. We find in football things that are possible to be and not to be, since they are found to be generated, and to corrupt, and consequently, they are possible to be and not to be. But it is impossible for these always to exist, for that which is possible not to be at some time is not. (when Bevell uses another RB and there is a punt)

The fourth way is taken from the gradation to be found in playcalling. Among beings there are some more and some less good, true, noble and the like. But “more” and “less” are predicated of different things, according as they resemble in their different ways something which is the maximum, as a thing is said to be hotter according as it more nearly resembles that which is hottest; ( Like Lynch is an MVP)

The fifth way is taken from the governance of the football world. We see that things which lack intelligence, such as referees, act for an end, and this is evident from their acting always, or nearly always, in the same way, so as to obtain the worst result. Hence it is plain that not fortuitously, but designedly, do they achieve their end. Now whatever lacks intelligence cannot move towards an end or end zone quite like Lynch. (see referees; Carey)

Ok, admit it. You've all spent at least some time lately picturing how you would feel and react to seeing the clock run out in the Super Bowl with us on top, and Russell Wilson hoisting the Vince Lombardi trophy on your tv. Then the commercial comes on saying "Russell Wilson, you and the Seattle Seahawks just won the Super Bowl. What are you gonna do now?". "I'M GOING TO DISNEYWORLD!". I admit I've been fanaticizing a lot about it... And I usually well up when I do. Please, can I experience that JUST ONCE before I die?? :179417:

Great post Aros! I am with you - it hasn't sunk in as I go between "the Hawks are playing well" to "Nine and one, no WAY!" The latter is just an unbelievable realization, that we are in literally uncharted territory for this team. I do think, as someone alluded to in a recent post, that there is a part of me - and some of us - that hasn't altogether let go of all the failures and just-coming-up-short, that is waiting for the other shoe to drop, that remembers even an 8-2 team can have the wheels come off.

But that is really just dumb of us, isn't it? We have a crushing, physical defense that probably only the teams circa 1984 could rival (early 90s also?). We have a smashmouth, run-first offense led by a running back we've never seen the likes of and a QB who has that rare combination of physical tools, game smarts, and "it" factor. And we have these things AT THE SAME TIME.

So yes, I am thoroughly enjoying the ride, wherever it ends up. I enjoy their camraderie, their antics, and the way they play. I usually laugh several times during each game at something they do, I get somewhat hypertensive when they dig themselves a big hole and then come up with the big Houdini finish, and I love seeing the delight in my kids' eyes when they read the score and exclaim "Daddy, the Seahawks are WINNING!"

They sure are!

I've experienced this feeling once in the 37 years i've been a fan, and that was the 2005 season.

Let's not forget the 12-4 1984 season. I felt we'd kill every team we faced that year. We were baddass! To bad the wheels fell off at the end there. If Curt Warner hadn't gone down in the first game, that probably would have been our Vince Lombardi year. Thanks for the fine effort there though Dr. D.

true 84 was a hell of a ride as well, the way that season ended crushed me.

Every year I am jealous of those teams that have a record like this.

Even in our best year we had 2 losses at this point. And most good years we have at least 4-5 losses at this point.

It feels so good to be one of those teams that has an amazing record at this point in the year.

9-1.

Man, if we win it all this year, I will go to the parade down Fourth and cry like a girl. I don't even care.

Your tears would have plenty of friends... Most on this board I'm sure...

Did anyone else start to feel like 2005 on this past Sunday afternoon? It was like a big load was lifted off my shoulders...it was like...."walking on air"! There is NOTHING like this feeling!
