Love that they took the time to cover it and that they wrapped in insight from players and coaches from around the league (including Waldron).

A cool snippit from the article:

Over the two-season span in which Waldron was Seattle's offensive coordinator and Smith was the starting quarterback (2022-23), no team in the league had a higher win probability added in these situations -- inside two minutes and trailing by one score -- than the Seahawks.

Its pretty cool to be able to relive that moment in written form.

Great to read about Olu’s/JNN’s awareness in the 2-minute. Keep leveraging those strengths and improve the $hit they’ve encountered. Future is hopeful.

Great read and thx for sharing! The best sentence in the entire article:

"Poise," a smiling Jameis Winston said back in the summer, of the most important part of two-minute offense. "That's the key."

Yes poise, Montana was known for it, and Bill Walsh drafted Montana for his poise under pressure.

I like this part. Macdonald is going to have his team practiced and prepared for game situations (coaches and players).

"The right side of the offensive line does not hold up this time, and Leonard Floyd sacks Smith at the 37. Walker and left guard Laken Tomlinson help Smith up with 1:06 left on the clock. First-year coach Mike Macdonald has a decision to make. The clock is ticking and he still has that one timeout remaining, but he elects not to take it. The Seahawks have practiced this, and they've decided how long they can let the clock run before they have to use that last timeout."

I prefer that we are able to achieve sufficient domination during the game so that we do not have to rely on a last minute miracle to pull it out. Those type of solutions are too often foiled. Harken back to the Rams visit. And the Giants. And...

Most sports stuff is pretty repititious and boring, but that's a great write up dissecting the two minute drill.

Regardless did how people feel about Russ or Geno l think we’ve been really spoiled late in games the last 12 years or so with two guys who seem to be great in this regard. Whoever is next has a tough act to follow for late game winning drives.

Great writeup! So unexpected and clutch to see Geno run for the winning TD. He's actually VERY fast, just saves his running for "times of dire need" and Shazam! Turns into Capt. Marvel! Wait, Shazam is also a phone app that recognizes songs playing on the PA or store muzack station, or even in the players heads. (Latest release, the "brain waves" edition.) So what was playing at that moment?

Why, THIS was playing, of course!

Loved reading about the nuances of the center position during the 2 min drill and how Olu was very prepared. Particularly considering he was starting only his second game and on short notice to boot.

Good read!
