We don't know much about the injury at this point. I started this thread so that we could share information as it becomes available. Has there been any more recent news about him?

We won't get anything until tomorrow. I am thinking even if it's bad they will stay tight-lipped and not rule him "out" until they absolutely have to, if that is the case. It willl be frustrating not knowing but I'm preparing myself for it

I got good practice during warm-up during the divisional round when Sam didn't come initially

This is the quote from Macdonald on the situation:

“He had an ankle today, we brought him in to look at it, and we’ll kind of go from here and figure out what are the next steps."

Not too illuminating, but he's also not automatically ruling him out.

I hope he’s gtg…simply because he’s one of my favorites and is no doubt the ‘key’ to this defense.

With that said, I have no doubt we’ll handle business regardless.

More worried about my son when he wakes up…he’s going to freak out 🤣

You know the key words here are.. "figure out what are the next steps" That is very ominous.

Fudge........

But this is still M.O.B. If number 3 is out then the defense will step up FOR him. We are still going to handle the Patriots. We're still the king of kings.

Yep, hopefully it is just a sprain with some swelling and the next steps are RICE until Sunday but next steps sounds worse.

Just read that players and coaches went over to comfort him before he left the field. That is bad news.

He walked off so thats usually a good sign, roll or slight sprain he would be ok in a couple days with tape. Or he could go all Jack Youngblood.

If you wanted to remove potentially the most valuable and difficult piece of this defense to replace, it’s Nick. Standard that we get the usual crowd on here shouting that this is not news or anything to be concerned about. Of course it is, don’t have to be a rocket scientist to work that out.

What unbelievable horrible news; both for the kid and for the team. Anyone familiar with ankle injuries will tell you walking away after doesn’t tell you anything; see how it is the next day tells you a lot more. Very concerning that coaches and players had to comfort him after the incident. Everything kept crossed for Nick he has avoided any structural damage

Is it the same ankle he injured earlier in the year? Would be terrible if it is reoccurring
