I've seen some people here talking about going to games out of town but haven't seen anything about that.

I went last year with my cousin and we plan on going again this year. just curious on if there is a preferred hotel / gathering place?

Last year we were on our own. Had a hotel down town and took the BART to Balboa park and took the busses to the stadium. It was crazy standing there on the bus (standing room only) with only a couple other hawks jerseys around.

There is a northern cali hawk boosters. Something like that. You can find them on .com. They do a dinner the night before that IMO is over priced for vanquet food. They tailgate with no group food on game day. They are no midwest hawk fans but its still something.

My brother lives there and as much as it kills me to say he is a... I can't.. . We go together. He is casual is overstating his commitmenr so its not that bad. PM me if you get something going and we can hook up.

As much as i want to see my Hawks, i don't really enjoy doing it in enemy territory. The Bryan Stowe (Baseball, google it) indecent really freaked me out. Nothing against Niner fans, just being outnumbered by drunk opposing fans of any team.

I used to go every year, but every year the environment got more and more hostile.

It's one thing to troll training camp, it's something completely different to troll a bunch of drunk cholos with norte tattoos on their necks.

if I get killed at a hawks game in SF will you all remember me with an animated gif?

Hopefully if that happens it will be at the new stadium so I can haunt that joint.

SF...probably the last NFL stadium I would ever venture into to watch the Hawks. I've seen the Hawks play in New York, New England, Green Bay, Tennessee, San Diego, Dallas, New Orleans and Denver. This season, I'm adding Houston and probably another one to the list. I've never had a "bad" experience per se, but that could be that I am not one of those obnoxious fans from other teams that gets drunk and talks trash all game long. I'm also 6'3" and 230 lbs...maybe that helps.

That fan base is way too dumb, full of themselves and insufferable to put up with in a live environment. I doubt I could find myself shelling out cash for the experience of having to restrain myself from smashing one of those bandwagon dipsh*ts in the grill. I'd say I could see myself attending with one of the many friends I have that are 49ers fans, but strangely NONE of them actually live in the Bay Area.

You guys are a bunch of girls. I never have an issue there. Buy a decent seat and you're good.

yeah we didn't run into much trouble last year.

To be honest the most antagonizing fans there were the girlfriends of dudes that seemed otherwise cool and just rolled their eyes as their mouthy girlfriends berated us and our jerseys.

I haven't been since 2007, but I really didn't have a bad time. Of course, the Niners are better now, which makes the fan base worse. Even going to the waterfront was pretty mellow, and I was rocking my Tatupu jersey.

I actually have no problem with SF the city. It reminds me a lot of Seattle, actually. The people were all pretty mellow. Sad thing is, that is the first place I've actually seen homeless people sit outside a Burger King and ask for your left overs. And they really mean it, they want them. None of this "need food, but only want cash for drugs/booze" that we normally see.

Has anyone gone recently where there were threatened or it got violent ?

on our trip we wore our jerseys the whole long weekend and used public transportation to get everywhere and to the game and never once felt theatened.

We even went to a strip club to waste some time before our hotel check-in and one of the dancers grabbed my seahawks hat and put it on while she did her routine and just smiled at all the boos she got. Must have been a seattle fan to risk those dollar bills..heh.

Riggghhhhttt.... or it could be just about enjoying the game without all the b.s.

I think with any stadium experience, it's going to be subjective. I've heard other teams fans complain about how awful Seahawks fans are at C Link, and I've never seen it.

It probably does matter what section you sit in.

I've been to Candlestick at least 10 times and I can say that it seems the Niners have gotten a bunch of bandwagon jumpers from Raider Nation. Same bs. It's gotten worse over the years but it depends mostly on how you conduct yourself.

I would say that this is probably true to an extent. Not claiming that all the hostility is from converted old Raider fans though.

As a Niner fan, you'll never catch me going to a Niner v Raider game no matter which stadium it's played at.

When I used to live in the Bay Area and attended Niner games, I never witnessed any violence, just like those of you who say they have never seen violence at C-link. I'm obviously not saying that it doesn't happen, as it obviously does, but to say that it doesn't happen at every stadium to a degree is rediculous.

I thnk the conduct piece is key. If you act like a jackwagon, you are probably going to get treated like one...in any stadium.

I live a stones throw from Candlesuck. Part of me is tempted to try and go to the game there this year, but I want my first Hawks game to be at the Clink...besides I don't want to get shot. :escape:

Undercover San Francisco police officers will be dressed in New York Giants Gear at Sunday’s 49ers game at Candlestick Park.

According to SFPD Sgt. Mike Andraychak, authorities want to make sure Giants fans are not harassed or threatened at the NFC Championship game.

Andraychak said the enhanced security measures came at the request of the NFL after several complaints by New Orleans Saints fans at last Saturday’s playoffs game.

http://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2012/0 ... 9ers-game/

Reports of rowdy fights and shootings at Candlestick Park after Saturday’s 49ers-Raiders exhibition game keep coming in, and video of some of the incidents have surfaced on YouTube.

One video, posted by YouTube user vfratus23, shows a rowdy group of women brawling in the parking lot. In what appears to be a Niner vs. Raider fan brawl, eventually a group of men start fighting, too.

Another video shows a brawl that broke out inside Candlestick Park, seemingly between to 49er fans. The fight originally appears to be between a Raider fan and a Niner fan until another Niner fan is hit and starts swinging back. Both fighters are wearing Niner jerseys with the number 16.

Nuff said.

Been once, hated the whole thing. It was 90 degrees out, Frank Gore ran wild, i was hungover, and i know for a fact if we would have cheered once or talked back to 8 thugs behind us we would have been shanked. There were 2 fights in our section one right in front of us. Some Niner fan tried punching a Hawks fan that keep standing up and cheering. Security showed up and the Niners fan got thrown to the ground and his head split wide open while 100 other Niner fans filmed it with there phone and cheered. I will never go back to that dump.

I've been to a couple road games there, stadium is an absolute hole, fans are brutal/cocky etc.
Love the city though, incredible place to hang out.
