I have little hope for the Everett herald. It is now owned by a Canadian Company.

What you trying to say Brah!?

Sorry but I have to lol at you. You're all upset that big American companies are buying up your newspapers, complaining that the only good news comes from the UK and proclaim a newspaper doomed because it's owned by heathen communist Canadians? Lolwut?

Problem is, now it'll be "All the news that's fit to print, eh?" Next thing you know, they'll be throwing in random "u"s where they don't belong (like in 'color')...

I am always sad to see local papers gobbled up by conglomerates. You lose the local feel most of the time. The parent company owns a lot of papers in the USA and Canada and with the sale of yet another community it's paper goes the charm

Journalism died years ago.

That is the truth once big corporations started buying up news outlets both print and broadcast it was the end of real journalism. It is pretty bad when the grand papers the Washington Post and Times, Wall Street Journal etc were sold and purchased. Look who was breaking all the Snowden stuff? Papers in the UK mostly the Guardian.

Big corporations have runied a lot of things. Newspapers, the record industry, the movie business, etc..

Speaking of disappointing reporting, Seattle may have gotten the shaft with the reporter changes at ESPN. Terry Blount is assigned to cover the Seahawks.

But he comes off pro 49er with his stick a finger in Seattle's eye piece today.

Yeah the Niners and Cards still have Sando, the Rams have Nick Waggoner posting hourly with some depth . . . And we've got Blount the re-hasher with no depth, analysis or orignality.

How was that pro 49er in anyway? Seems very factual and straight forward.

None of the reporters in this area seem to do anything but roll up to the press conferences, tweet out the same quotes as each other then maybe write a blog post about those quotes.

There's nobody like Joe Reedy (Cincy enquirer) who breaks big news about the Bengals and is seen as a definitive local source.

Carroll hosts a press conference. Your timeline is flooded with 4-5 people tweeting the same stuff. Then silence.

For me the last great reporter this region had was Sando. His blog at the TNT was on another level. Inspired observations, in depth analysis, breaking news and the best place (at the time) to discuss the Hawks with fellow fans. As soon as he left, it's never been quite the same.

It takes the same spin we have had, doubting he will help but a jab at us, pointing out "possible justifications".
