I remember writing something about Niko Koutouvides, basically just a link to a newspaper article.

His wife contacted .net and got all bent out of shape. Thread removed.

My son reads his boards. I would assume others do the same.

Yes and no. Understand that most players & coaches have very little interest in what is discussed here overall, but there's no doubt some swing by from time to time, especially when they've done something very positive (who wouldn't want to read about how awesome fans think you are?)

As far as posting, they aren't allowed to while on the team. Most major league teams prohibit employees from engaging in forums or message boards for fear of bad PR.

It must be incredibly hard not to respond to stuff that he knows is ridiculously wrong.

Thanks.

That last bit is interesting considering how much more of an impact one ill-conceived tweet could have by comparison (in my opinion).

This was my understanding too, but then why is Twitter given the exception? They have no affiliation with the NFL. And you see how bad PR spreads there.

Mark is a "playa" and only reads because he owns it.

Comon, we all know he only looks at the pictures.
Since we lost Happy Fridays, what's the point in that?

I know you put emphasis on 'most', but I have you know that former Viking punter, now Raider, Chris Kluwe, frequents Reddit all the time! He even participates in the TRASH TALK threads! I think it is pretty cool when players interact with their fans, but at the same time I can see how it could be a PR issue.

Which still makes no sense because twitter is almost forced upon the players to use. And talk about an easy outlet for most players without needing to even think before you post. How many twitter battles and misrepresented quotes has there been? And the league has no problem with that. I think the forum posting rule may be more rumor anymore. IF teams didnt want them on forums, they would surely not want them to use twitter unless each tweet was approved by a PR rep.

I'm pretty sure that Rock is talking about actual football players. Kickers and punters don't count.

I know you are joking, but there have been a handful of NFL players on reddit over the last few years doing AMAs. Usually they are there representing a foundation or charity, but a few have done it just for kicks. The interactions are awesome, Armond Smith of the Panthers actually agreed to DJ a redditor's party.
