Yes. I don't remember where I first discovered this, but it's true. Hawkblogger mentions it here, in his post on this issue of The Disappearing Home Field Advantage in the NFL.

https://www.hawkblogger.com/2024/11/the-disappearing-nfl-home-field-advantage.html

Out of respect for Aros, who is the registered STH for the tickets I have, I only sell on Ticketmaster, or to someone who is well vetted.
That doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. It would be like getting sued for selling your car to someone who went out and killed somebody in a DUI accident. The only exception I can think of is if you sold your tickets to someone you knew had planned to carry out a criminal act, and nearly all of the sales via 3rd party venders are anonymous.

Honest question: Has any STH in the NFL or any other similar endeavor ever been successfully sued for selling their ticket(s) to fans who misbehaved?

Not Sued, but tickets taken away. It happens a lot. Happened to a guy who sits just 2 rows behind us. He sold to opposing fans (must not have been thru Ticketmaster) and the person got in a fight at his seats. We never saw him again. I asked my rep and he told me the guy lost his season tickets because of it. Earlier in the season, he got kicked out for a single game for the same exact same thing happening. So, not only did he get a warning (1 game) but he doubled down again.

High price tickets for games were the NFL tries to steer the outcome. Football as a whole is just not that good anymore.

From the consumer standpoint, Season tickets made a lot more sense before the advent of easy, secure purchase on the secondary market.

It used to be that you had to know someone with season tickets, or risk buying fraudulent tickets.

It also makes sense in markets where tickets are in high demand, and the secondary market is overpriced.

Now, you can pretty much guarantee a ticket pretty much anywhere in Lumen, for a reasonable price.

The big benefit is guaranteed, reasonably priced seats in the event they start selling out. If the Hawks did host a playoff game, it’s nice knowing you won’t pay ridiculous prices to attend.

What perplexes me is that fans from other cities are willing to pay inflated ticket prices, plus travel, plus time away from work, to come and watch the games, and Seattle residents, with their 3rd highest median income in the country, can’t cough up for just the tickets?

I understand that many/ most fans aren’t in that higher wage earning bracket, but I would think that it is a similar wage bracket to the fans traveling here to cheer other teams.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Add the cost of living to the equation and there's a significant disposable income disparity at the "Blue collar" earning level

So, how much purple do we expect to see in the stands today? If I had the $, I'd be at the game.

IMO (you don't have to agree, IDGAF) selling your ticket(s) to the highest bidder rather than attending the game yourself or selling to other Hawks fans makes you a sell out, traitor, POS. If you can't afford them or only care when we're winning PLEASE give them up so a real fan can get them. If you're a real fan you shouldn't wait for the team to "be better" in order for you to want to attend. Mediocre/bandwagon fans don't help the team, they are a big part of the problem (at games and on .net)

This is the slang definition of "sell out" according to Google -
Informal. a person who compromises their personal values, integrity, talent, etc., for money or personal advancement. Informal. a person who betrays a cause, organization, or the like; traitor.

Our fans use to be a force. Make our Home Field advantage great again!...or move along.
You are calling the team POS. Just understand that fans selling to highest bidder is doing EXACTLY THE SAME as the Seahawks.

They clawed back season tickets / held back after cancellation. Then they were the FIRST team in the NFL to use the dynamic pricing once allowed. Meaning they sell tickets via Ticketmaster not to fans, but matching market price to maximize revenue

So before you complain about fans - did you complain to the Seahawks about them not caring who is in the stands? The team is a sellout. The team is filled with traitors.

Or do you hold fans to a higher standards than a billion dollar organization
