DK not blowing up is 100% Macdonald influence

It would not surprise me at all that Mike McDonald’s influence and accountability is what kept DK Metcalf in check last night. In past years under Pete, he would’ve absolutely blown up but knows now that there’s a new sheriff in town and someone not to mess with. Thoughts?

I'm chalking it up to that!

Whole Fing team has a different/better attitude.

Can see it in the postgame pressers.

So refreshing to see.

I don't know about that.

DK seems to mostly blow up in physical confrontations rather than stuff like what happened last night.

DK fumbling earlier in the game humbled him a bit. I think that's more to blame for his demeanor, although I don't doubt Macdonald is much harsher on that type of thing.

I'm interested to see how Macdonald's culture evolves from here.

Fumbling the ball sucked, but I'd 100% rather have a guy fighting and clawing his way for extra yards with 4 dudes all over him and have the ball popping out than having a powderpuff dropping to the ground when he hears footsteps. That play reminded me of Kam and the boys from a few years ago with the extra effort. Detroit is physical, but we needed to let them know we're physical too.

He was a beast last night, and the only thing I was pissed about when it came to him was that he never got his well-deserved TD. (or 2-point conversion which he actually converted for that matter)

Megatron used to do that a lot fighting for extra yards. He was praised for his effort.
It's too bad that DK didn't get the game that he SHOULD HAVE. 2 pt conversion, shafted. Hugged in the end zone, shafted. Gets to the 1 yard long on that great play.
Mugged by #23 all damn night, shafted.

Maybe it's Mike, maybe it's DK getting older, maybe Lockett randomly came over to his place and kicked his ass over the offseason and told him to knock it off, maybe some combination thereof, I don't know. I'm just glad he's not doing it anymore.
