If you're referring to the last play of the game it's definitely OPI which would be a 10-yard penalty and a repeat of 4th down. However, the clock had expired and the offense doesn't get an un-timed down if they commit the foul. The un-timed down only occurs when the defense commits the foul.

There were several instances of poor clock management on the Lions final drive. A team can run 4 plays with 20 seconds left in the game but you don't have time for 5 or 6 plays.

Thoughts? Tomlin vs a small market team...hmmmm
Dunno. Didn't pass the smell test with me.

Anytime you got the WHOLE officiating crew crowded around doing the 'will we/won't we' thing - never ends well.

I think they got boned. But at least DK will be thrown out of the league for the rest of the season!

Last play one was a push off, knowing what he's like I wonder if Ramsey embellished being pushed back. The Teslaa one negating the first TD was so unnecessary. There is no way the defender he made contact with would have got out to cover the St. Brown speed out.

I did feel like he trolled Detroit a little when he announced it was a touchdown - but you lose anyway.

But the ruling was correct.

The best description I heard was on Sportscentre (Canada) when the anchor and Luke Willson joked he announced it like the literal doctor from Arrested Development

They got outplayed all day. Starting to kind of get sick of the Lions too.
I know Dan Campbell can do no wrong in Detroit - since he bailed them out of the oblivion they had been trapped in for - well pretty much ever.

But DAMN - his persona/message has to be a little tiring for the players.

Thing I do like about Campbell is not blaming refs after the game or talking about it like some others coughMcVaycough.

I thought he was being dramatic when he he made the comment after the NFCCG loss to the Niners that they may never get back there again. It's starting to look that way.

I think there were some pretty bad misses their have against the Rams that have them on edge as it is

That last play was just confusing and the announcement didn't help with the verbiage about not enforcing the penalty

They did enforce the penalty, that is why the TD did not count.

It makes sense how they got there, it's just that there wasn't a signal on the field and the play ended in confusion

Something like "While the play is rules a touchdown, there was offensive pass interference on number #14. This penalty is accepted and nullifies the result of the play. As time expired during the play there is no penalty yardage enforced and no replaying of the down. By rule, offensive penalties do not allow for an untimed down.

It all makes sense - it was just confusing

As for the forward progress, even if it was ruled that the play was dead due to forward progress with time on the clock the Steelers would have just declined the penalty and taken the ball over on downs

The first PI call was questionable - I wish the Rams were called for stuff like that

It was an obvious push off made even more convincingly with Jalen’s flop. I was rooting for the Lions but it was the right call.
