So it was looking like LSU might steal QB Demond away from UW. But wait a second! UW, who Demond already signed a contract with to be a Husky, was smart to include a provision preventing him from entering transfer portal. Why the hell are Demond and LSU risking a lawsuit??

He's not coming back to UW, but it sounds like the university is going to make it hell for him. Good for them. I'm happy the players are getting paid and I'm certainly not one of those "in my day, college athletes... blah blah blah", but this is all getting beyond ridiculous. The NCAA played hardball too hard before and lost control when the floodgates opened.

The problem is that nobody really is in control. The NFL is an old boys club, but at least it is an entity together enough to bargain with the Player's Union, which is another thing the NCAA doesn't have.

Also, screw LSU. Now that my team was unfairly removed from the playoffs by a corrupt NCAA (I'm still working on a reason why that's the case), I'm pulling hard for Ole Miss just because it would be hilarious to see them make a run without Lane.

I am disappointed we have to pay the NIL for this guy - and then lose him to another school. I'd rather just lose him. Not a fan.

It feels like he might blossom somewhere else but I am underwhelmed. He doesn't seem to improve and I frankly question if he has the football IQ or intelligence to play the position. Great at running. Great at throwing on the run. But terrible at making the easy throws and prone to headscratching decisions. And good god does he miss open receivers....

(I'm also curious how Boston helps his numbers)


He goes up there with Cody Pickett as one of those QBs that everyone thought would be good but just was more potential than production. And, Im not sure his mental weaknesses can be overcome anyway. He seems to process slow on the field. Worse, because of him - we are losing out on other QBs.
I would happily drive him to the airport, drop him off and watch him struggle at LSU. Not happy it cost the UW millions of $$$ but hopefully that leads to better contract design in the future.

His agent dropped him because Demond made him look bad by not honoring the deal/contract his agent worked out for him with UW that was set to pay him over 4 million dollars. Anyone paying attention knows that college football is completely effed up in so many ways. There's no rules, nobody's in charge, and it can't make any sense of itself.

If I was a UW player, I wouldn't want him back on the team. He's talented but not enough to be irreplacable. He showed this true colors and they ain't purple and gold. Actually, the NCAA should suspend him for the year to teach him a lesson. Sort of similar to what happened with Maurice Clarett.

I want him back. He's a difference maker. We're all whores now, schools, conferences, the NCAA, players, coaches, fans, etc...
UW is a better team with him next year. No question. The NCAA has no power to make a move to penalize him like that either. They're feeble and so far behind the curve that it's biting them in the arse.

It's worse.
He is accurate on the run, athletic, and great as a running threat.
But he makes poor decisions. (sacks, ints, etc)

QBs that make poor decisions are a liability.
