Wow I somehow survived with the Cowboys. Go Bears tonight! I hope Cutler does his best Tom Brady impression.

If I hadn't picked the Vikes, I'd be rooting hard for the Bears tonight like you are.

A Bears win would harshly reduce all the pools I'm playing in. I hate picking with the majority - kinda deserve the Vikes to lose tonight.

Rule 1 of survivor: no road teams in divisional matchups. Let's go Bears!

You are right. My bad this week.

I haven't watched a Vikes game this year yet, but keep hearing how "Great and Wonderful And AWESOME" Bradford is now.

I tune in to this game, and it's: THE SAME BRADFORD!!!

Same sacks, same stupid as can be befuddled faces, same everything. He's a loser. At the end, the last shot of his face - he looked completely confused as to why his team lost. I know that look!

I deserve to be out of the Survivor game for picking a team he was QBing.

End of Week 8. Pretty much half time of the season.

Results:

This week we say good-bye to: Me, Fade and Hawkfan68 cuz we picked Bradford. And some others who didn't make a pick this week. Bye us! Was fun.

Remaining for the GOLD of First Place are 5 players: davidonmi, Hawk-Lock, London12, Timmahawk, and WmHBonney.

These players will slowly fall into the Consolation Round, which is playing for the SILVER of Second Place and adds: dbmack, bigskydoc, Maulbert, mpc_hawks, and RobDaHawk.

So, we have TEN players still left at half-time. A huge :irishdrinkers: to all of you ten!

And, good luck as it goes now....

Generally yes, but I did pick NE on the road vs the Browns, so exceptions can be made.

There are no rules.

Every year, whoever wins or survives puts out for the rest the rules they played by to win. it happens every year.

However, this is my 5th year and the rules handed out change every year. It's a game of do your best with strategy, and then get some luck.

I've won 2 games outa 4, and now lose year 5. My advice should say something - except that it's NO BETTER than anyone giving it out now.

That's why I love this game.

One can never know which game and Official crews will dictate what happens or when injuries will raise another player from the dead aka Cutler.

Yes.

I seriously felt like an idiot all night long having picked a Bradford led team to win. I also feel insane OMG this is my Bradford and I'm an idiot for thinking he could win.

Hey, tho - this is why we love playing and watching and well.....I also have no answer for the absolute wrongness of the refs in the Hawk game. I saw that too.

In a season where we have to deal w Trump v Hillary day in and day out....seems a good time for Goodall and the NFL at large to quantify and qualify and make professional the $!% refs of this game we love.

It's getting beyond stupid.

I have general rules I tend to stick with every year:

1. No divisional games
2. No road teams
3. Bigger weight on home team for Thursday night games.
4. Don't pick a team a week after playing a knock down drag out game. (Seahawks and cardinals last week, Falcons the week before)
5. Don't save teams for later
6. Get lucky

This week I considered breaking rule 1, since rule 3 had the Titans looking good. I ended up going with the only game that met the rules, Atlanta, and got lucky!

That's a good list. I generally agree with most your points. I think the one most people overlook are the first two. I think divisional games are fine, but divisional road games are usually a big no for me. As a Seahawk fan, I know that divisional road games are never a sure thing.

Just don't get caught up with the easy thinking of team A is better than team B, therefore I will pick team A. We were team A against New Orleans and lost. It's so hard to win on the road in the NFL.

My best friend in this game is Vegas. I lean on them to help me out. If there is the best predictor in who wins, it is Vegas. Because unlike our fandom, they have big money on these games. Believe it or not, the Vikings were only about a 4.5 point favorite over the Bears. Jets were only favored by 2.5/3, and we were only favored by 1 over the Saints.

Vegas is a good tool. I follow the rule of never picking a road team, ever. too many weird things can happen. I don't really pay attention to much else, just finding the home team I think is mostly like to win every week

For sure. I use spreads a lot when making picks, a tiebreaker of sorts. I don't like divisional games but at the end, you are probably going to have to take one if youve made it far enough.

Yes, you and the others who had their first loss will be moved to the Consolation Round in the next update. I leave the Rounds as they are with the Losses and Outs noted for the first post after the games so that everyone can check the charts to make sure I have their info correct for the week. Sometimes I miss some things, so seems the best way to give everyone a chance to check the results.
