I guess I'll miss him. I have trouble sometimes understanding his calls. Wonder who gets the job now?

I won't miss him at all. Sometimes I choose to watch or listen to the opposing team's broadcast and it reminds me how terrible the Mariners' broadcast team is. The opposing team's broadcasters often seem to know more about the Mariners than Dave Sims and Mike Blowers. Sims definitely gave you very little information about the opposing teams, which can make the game more interesting.

On top of that, he was not soothing like Vin Scully or enthusiastic like Bob Uecker. He was just blah. I wasn't a big John Sterling fan--he managed to sound pompous while talking about baseball. And those stupid home run calls.

Maybe when he leaves, we can get a bag of chips for him.

That would make it worthwhile.

I was never a huge fan of sims to be honest. He wasn't bad, he brought some excitement to a team lacking on the field excitement. But I won't miss him. I suspect they will just elevate Aaron Goldsmith to be on the TV side even more often. I hope whoever it is it's a lot less Angie Mentink to the point I never hear her call another game again.

Meh he was okay. I prefer Goldsmith and Rizzs.

I feel like Seattle sports teams generally have/had decent announcers- Raible, Rondeau/Castricone, Forslund, Calabaro etc

I kind of like Angie, but she's more color, not play by play.

I can’t stand Angie. I know she was s getting paid by the mariners but every time a new player comes up to bat she makes him out to be the greatest baseball she has ever seen. Like are we not watching the same players. And it’s just constant for all 9 innings

Well, it was a tall order for him, anyone, to take over from Neihaus.

Some of the comments that people were making about him, typical classless M's fans. It's like damn, he got his dream job, and they're acting like he's the worst announcer of all time. Jealousy is strong.......

Angie is cool. And she's also from UW and one of the best Softball players in history. She has a great gig, no need to hate.

not hating. I like her on the pre and post game stuff but during the game I can't stand her at all.
